I recently started working on a new mugen game and when I add characters and stages the characters appear in the game but not the stage. Ive only had the problem with certain characters by Infinite specifically Andy and Benimaru. I tried adding the characters and stages using vselect, and by adding them manually in the select def but no luck. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

p.s

For those wondering here's exactly how I input everything in the select.def again it works fine for other characters just not these.

Andy, stages/mist.def, order=3

Dunno if this problem exists in 1.0 BUT when any of your stages has a clear space in its name (like "Some Stuff") and not an actual space symbol "_" it may break all your order so the chars dont come on specified stages.
Example: stages\B.Jenet_MOTW-B.Jenet_Stage.def

The stages work fine when added to other characters and also when added to the extra stages section. I re-downloaded the characters and it worked initially but when I switched their roster spot it stopped working. I'm assuming this isn't a common problem so I'll keep checking and trying things. Thanks for the response

By name I meant def files names. Could be more specific there. So check if any of your stages def files have clear spaces in them.

Having experienced and tested this problem, I can confirm that having spaces in the stage .def name does indeed break the order in 1.0.

If your chars appear in the select screen fine, but does not appear with the proper stage/order, then it is most likely a problem with spaces in the select.def The stage will appear fine in the stage select section though.
