I try to not look at things from the perspective of their companies and such. If a series is good then it's good, don't matter who but it in the shelf.

Marvel and DC mostly have the same writing style,as in !MAJOR STORY ARC! gets divided into like 10 other ongoing comics besides its main line so I need to buy everything in order to fully get the story,which kills it for me
Bonelli usually makes their stories fit into 1 long 200+pages issue,or like Zagors voodoo queen arc or SuperMike arc,3-4 issues tops

Well at their worst yeah. But they do get collected to trade paperbacks, where you can just pick the good stuff from. I never had an issue with it.

For other non DC/Marvel stuff, I really love Saga and Judge Dredd.

american comics wise I just read stuff that is recomende to me, usually series up to a certain stop point (usualyl change of authors like in the exlies) or trade papaerbacks of stuff that is more self contained (mostly the dc/marvel stuff)
