You say that anime is cool and all, but do you legit watch any of these shows? Or play those games? Or know anything significant beyond how certain characters look? Can you give a reason why Show A is better than B that goes beyond "show B has themes that make me cringe?" That's why I said I wasn't convinced. Not because your interest is fake, but because you've offered little indicating knowledge on the medium.

You can do more by being informed, even if looks boring to do. That goes for anything.
