So, I am planning to give Pikachu an update soon.

One of the first tasks I will be doing is to randomize the helpers that will appear during some of Pikachu's mail strikes.

But how do you do it is my problem.

Any help?

Randomise how? Different positions, different states? Different velocity, different sparks?

More info please so we can give you a decent method of doing this.

Won't mean much if i just tell you random%32

As in:

I have at least three different kinds of "Pikachu Mail". Pikachu Flying mail. Pikachu Mail trucks, you get the Idea.

It is pretty boring to see the exact same set of people in the exact same amounts appearing over and over again.

How can you code the move so a different amount of each striker type shows up?

Edit: And possibly randomize the appearance times as well...

In this situation, random%# would be a good method. Probably using varset as well.

so, for random number of helpers you create a varset

type = varset
trigger1 = blah
v = bleh
value = 1+random%6

that'll give you a value anywhere between 1 and 5 (0,1,2,3,4,5=6 values)

you can then ID your helper and say

trigger1 = numhelper(ID) < var(bleh)
for position you use random again
pos = random%#, -random%#

You can use it for velocity too. Or a method of changing animation

1000+random%3
will let you use anim's 1000-1002 without changing state to get each one.
