Things have been really REALLY slow lately, mainly based on my idiotic decision to take biology and chemistry and math at the same time, and then playing skyrim on my free time xD Granted it's probably going back to 0% because now i'll probably have to make them look more gameboy-ish now :'(
Gameboy Scorpion - 4%

SUPER SECRET STAGE - 0% ;)

I'm in the same boat as you, but replace your classes with BioStats and Engrish 102. And replace Mass Effect 3 with SFxT. My portraits have slowed a bit. It's more or less picking away instead of working away.

LOL

No, not a SINGLE portrait. Read my post over. I mention Portrait COLLECTIONS. Not a single portrait. It's in my sig.

But I would assume reviewing a single portrait would be a small paragraph, like you're looking at and typing about the Mona Lisa, Whistler's Mother, The Son of Man, or something like that.  ;P

Quality of the 16bits indexed portrait wrt the source image, as well as cutting of the edges and possibly edits if there are some.
But this should be a character review topic, not a portrait/stage/fonts one.

it is time to review goku by the cybaster and balthazar connection please download him at http://network.mugenguild.com/cybaster/

i don't think i can say anything that hasn't already been said about this character. you've got an amazing spriter teaming up with a coder that can make anything work. goku has a very fun moveset, most of his characteristic moves have been implemented in a way that is not overpowered. the only thing i could nitpick after spending a lot of time trying to nitpick on something is that the voice samples are a bit low sometimes and are barely audible over the other sound effects, but this is a very minor issue. get this character even if you're not a fan of dragon ball.

goku is 10/10

----------

i am now reviewing gen-an by basara-kun you can download him at http://basara.mugen-infantry.net/

i like samurai shodown character designs a lot but i never really had fun playing any of the games. i don't particularly remember all the details about the samurai games and their gameplay but this gen-an feels like one of those characters. unfortunately i don't really have a lot to say about this character because i don't particularly like the games. i think the sound he makes during his standing and walking is very obnoxious and i'm aware it's something from the original game, but some kind of indication on the readme on how to remove it (change this line in the cns or whatever) would be a good thing. also i'm not sure if the move in that second screenshot should connect under those circumstances, i think it should but then again it might be a samsho thing i'm not aware of. i can't really fault anything in this character because it accomplished what you set out to do which is a samsho character. i hope that you eventually make one with ss6 sprites (if those are available idk) because they look a lot better.

this character gets 8/10 i am sure fans of samurai shodown would appreciate it much more than i do

Yay, the first 10/10. Famitsu Titiln gave us the highest grade !!! :sugoi:

Totally agreed. Sounds has always been something I'm really bad at.

Wow, 8/10, awesome :D and yeah, some of your points are right, some stuff are just like in game (like the annoying glove sound and that strong slash), which I should fix to work better on MUGEN. And sorry, I don't have idea about you're not fan of SS, maybe you can get another character of your choice from my page to get reviewed :)

if the glove sound is there for accuracy's sake then you should keep it, but an easy way to disable it from the character would be nice

Yeah do Basara's Eric or Blizzard.

You don't need to compare them to source either because they are original creations.
I rock

hello it is now time to review yoma komatsu by baby bonnie hood she can be found at www.trinitymugen.com

this character was already reviewed twice in ddm and both reviews focused too much on borrowed code or whatever. i'll just stick to the character in this review because nobody really cares about people borrowing code at this point in time. this character is based in a cartoon version of yoma komatsu i think she makes songs for bemani games. most of her attacks and hypers involve projectiles in some way or another, which i didn't really like. i was not a huge fan of the helpers either, i would've limited them to a super. i didn't like how long the premium encore super was either, a couple less seconds of the opponent being in the air would've been less obnoxiously silly. was expecting some kind of rhythmical hyper given the nature of the character but there wasn't one. not all of the ideas in this character are bad, but the sprites really limit it. i suggest that you start over. if you were willing to venture into the realm of mspainting an entire character, i think you should try remaking her but using flash or something similar. vector trace some of her artwork to get her head and body and then work from that. make variations of her head and limbs and rotate them in order to animate her. base yourself on existing character animations if you're not sure how to do it. her design doesn't seem that complicated and i think you could pull it off. it would look great.

yoma gets 6/10

addendum to the yoma review: what i mean is she could look like this

and it's relatively easy to do

it now time to review ingrid by crazykoopa she can be found at www.trinitymugen.com

ingrid is a character from capcom fighting jam a lot of people hate. i personally don't mind her. i've only used her in mugen (other versions). this one uses a system like jmorphman's joe, which i'm sure lots of others use before joe. probably a pots thing. i am becoming a fan of that system because it's fun and most characters work fine under it. i wish every character ever used this system then mugen would be a huge full game for everybody to enjoy. as far as i can tell this is the best ingrid available for mugen

ingrid is 10/10 and it looks like i might be giving away too many 10/10 ratings but i couldn't find anything wrong with this character and i had fun messing around with it

-----

this is undead_zombie by realredred he can be downloaded at http://page.freett.com/okotowari/hosted5.html

undead_zombie is a gross lookin zombie dude. he is an original character. his moves usually involve throwing up vomit or blood or worms, or ripping his skin open to throw a vital organ at you. his movement is slow because he is a zombie. i didn't like how most of his moves leave something on the ground, because that gets annoying fast. his only hyper is kind of lame compared to the rest of the character. i liked the sprites a lot and he pulled them off very well, however he did them.

undead zombie gets 7/10 because i feel there's a lot of untapped potential. but it's not like the creator's going to read any of this. oh well!!!

Considering how well this is going, perhaps you can also review more obscure releases that people wouldn't normally go for, like Aiduzzi's Ella and Kuando, Borghi's characters or Reu's DragonClaw. In my case, I wouldn't have tried Slightly Pissed off Ryu if it wasn't for your review. And he's damned awesome.

Awesome stuff Titlin. Keep em coming!!  :sugoi:
