What is the acronym? I know it was forgotten but does anyone want to make something up or does anyone remember it?

M=Multi
U=Unlimited
G=(Don't know yet)
E=Electronic
N=(Don't know yet)

I think what's most likely is that the word was inspired by the following equation: pocket + monster = pokemon.

And I have a sneaking suspicion that "gen" is for generator or generation. So this leaves us with little options, such as:

multifaceted generator
multifarious generator
multilateral generator
musing generator
mugen generator
