And glad to see you're still around even if we have no news of SF3 Sakura.

Your Angel looks good. I first thought the head is big. BUT it fits KOF XIII style, so it looks good.

I would give angel slightly bigger legs. I think she's more muscular than Athena.

Also, seems like her hip area is too "short". I mean the height/length of hip looks not "tall" enough.
Compared to other KOF XIII girls and compared to her classic appearance
Hope you can fix it, because it give strange feeling.

Beside of that, it looks good, particularly the animation.

When they used 3d models to do this, sprites were touched up.

All you've done is ripped or grabbed and Angel model and put some shading on it.
If you modeled Angel thats a decent model of her but again its hard to pull of the effect your trying to achieve with no touch ups or spriting skills.

Here's my take, edited manually. Mostly fixing colors, limiting the palette and few details:



My suggestion is to do a gray render first because with a professional software you can limit the color amount to 7 tones, which is how KoF XII shading is.



Then I suggest to do a render with a color separation, like the ones you do but with more saturated colors avoiding white/gray/black tones. If you can get it to be pure colors it would be excellent, if not, something similar so you can saturate the palette with the professional software.



And then what you do is to overlap the gray render with the color separated render.

*The extra renders I suggest are for a more accurate palette. It should ease the issue you have with the renders that have 256 colors. Which is a real issue. My example image should have 42 colors tops (6 separations x 7 tones each).

What is cool about the gray render is that you can manually edit stuff here and there without worrying about the palette. And after that you overlap the color separated render or even better you do a custom CS, with the 3d render as a guide.

Also, the textures would be better if they have more glossiness in the hair, clothes and skin.

The last renders you did have a shading that reminds me more of SF3 style rather than XII, the first versions you did were closer to XII, with a more absolute and simpler shadow. The last version has overlapping shadows, it's more noticeable on her right leg you can see a X shape due the multiple shadows.



This project looks promising.

Yeah, this is a rather promising project indeed, with some cleaning and miniman rescaling it could pass for the real thing

I think I said this before, but the only thing that looks "off" are the frames.
They should be a lot fewer than what you have right now if you're going for the XIII look.

i will let blender generate it so much, to give options to the coder, i know this is too much for the styles, but i preffer to the coder remove it

Actually, I never really had a plan to code Angel, my first plan was to edit Krunkest404 version to make her a bit more POTS and edit her sprites to match her KOF XIV look.

I'm not good evough to code some advanced character like Angel. I avoid to take on SNK and Capcom character, because fans can be hardcore if your interpretation don't match the exact source character. ^^;

Anyway, I still think your sprites can be used as a base to make some SFF patch for POTSAngel...

not sure about the shading style in legs area, if compared to Athena...

Thank you. i used Bonita cause i think it fits her better, and is more "brazillian" anyway i preffer this outfit, and will use it to show a CVS char on my shaders, Laura is not a comission, will become free after i rip all moves

Her style looks good with other character, but just like for early Angel tests, I feel like her hip area, upper thighs have a problem.
Anyway, it still can be fined later sprite by sprite, but it would save time to have a more fitting model edit.
(Only my perception)

I don't know what have been changed fron SFV model, but there is something strange here to me.

I did some test with compressed (smaller) upper body, and it somewhat looked pretty ok, but I didn't saved the sprite correctly.

I should stop asking to fix it, because, otherwise you cannot progress.^^;
I just feel like this kind of proportions is something I vever saw in any Street Fighter girl.

KUKRI doesn't need a face redraw because his face doesn't show, so he could be close to a direct port from KOF XIV into 2D

The shader results on the renders are not half bad. But I gotta be honest, the skirt physics are downright comical. I know her skirt goes up a couple of times in the official games, but there are more animations where her skirt is flying up and showing her underwear than there are animations where her skirt is down. When you force her skirt to fly up like that, not only it makes it look weightless like it's made out of paper, but it just looks forced. Really advise that you try to make it more subtle.

Bro, what are your tools for doing this and what is your workflow? Blender? Unreal? I've been trying to achieve similar goals using smash ultimate models but the most I can do is port them into blender and render out png scans of the model in the viewport. idk how to color separate, add shading, set the physics, etc like you are doing. Are you willing to reveal your methods? Anything you are wiling to share is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. I'm willing to help you with characters if it comes down to it.

Nice and she's accurate.
But I feel like 100% of the attempts to make her in Mugen woeld, the body proportions never matches with either Capcom or SNK or anything in Mugen.

I would have definitely reworked her 3D model proportions before making any rendering.
But it's just me...

Pin-Poin version would be the closest thing to what would be a good conversion. (visually)
