Gato with a new design

Is that a back facing stance he has ?

i am surprised he is blind because in his sister's ending after his sister defeated kain, he wasn't blind, so his ending is cannon after all :P i have a feeling his dad will be in as dlc :dugoi:

I think it may actually be a back turned stance, he does switch in and out of it and when he's actually in it, a lot of the moves he's doing are not from garou 1. My first impression was that it was a cosmetic thing like how characters in older smash games turn their back when facing the opposite direction, but upon further inspection I later figured out it may have not been that. Its a bit of a shame hotaru also doesnt have stances, she had two stances in NGBC and I dont really think anyone really experimented with them after that game.

Is anyone getting the feeling that these trailers are a little... short? It kinda feels like theyre going "hey youre probably familiar with these characters so we may not need to show much" and only ever really showing a few moves and the level 3. I want to see a bit more of what the characters can do and how the game looks in general, and while I dont really expect actual competitive gameplay videos for a while, I do kinda want them to show off characters for a bit longer, especially for those new to the series who werent able to get their hands on garou 1 (despite it being on quite a few platforms) and never really saw how these characters performed in that.

Well, yes and no:
Trailer video's description said:
"A man determined to settle the score with his father, Gao, after nearly being blinded by him in the previous tournament. Gato has (for the most part) recovered his sense of sight since the vicious attack; however, after realizing that very sense is what makes his movements sluggish, he now willingly fights in complete darkness. Hearing news of the upcoming KOF tournament, the vengeful Gato once again enters the fray—indeed, with nothing but his father in his sights."

There will be an open beta test February 20th-24th. Eight characters will be playable but it has not been said who exactly.

Because it is an open beta test, you don't have to have pre-ordered the game in order to access it, and it will be on every system the game will be launching on. Even bigger is that, on the console versions, you don't need any paid online services like xbox live or PS plus in order to play it, meaning that it is, and I cannot stress this enough, completely free to access.

mr. big marks the second art of fighting character to be in fatal fury series, no surprise actually  :P but I wonder why he would suddenly join in the tournament after so much years  :P i thought kain might be a dlc character  :P but cool to see joe and andy in too since I thought they might be cameos after seeing their students (except hokutomaru) in this tournament and four eyes joe higashi?  :mwhoa: this reminds me like I usually saw some of friends pretend to wear glasses to court girls and he might be using this method to try to date a girl since he always fail to get girl ;D

8 characters on the initial roster seems a bit short to me these days.
And the first DLC looks promising.

So we're at 14 characters out of 17 base roster and we have all 5 DLCs. Andy and Mai being there hopefully means Hokutomaru is gone, so if we keep Jae Hoon and Freeman (no reason they get the shaft), then there's ONE spot left for a new bad guy. Otherwise there's no story beside Kain again. ... It's gonna be Geese, isn't it.
Speaking of, I'm really not big on Kain's hair.
Andy finally has a real fire design though.

Nice to see SNK follow tradition in bringing a character that hasn't had any appearences in recent times with Grandpa Big.

Freeman is going to be DLC isn't he :msad:

Same reason as to why Heihachi is DLC in Tekken 8 despite being regarded as dead and all.

Joe as a DLC choice feels weird to me, unless the reason was to reuse his KOFXV model to save costs and just have a more agressive version of his student's gameplay.

there's some misinformation going on here: Grant is NOT planned as a future DLC

instead, Grant's model shows up as part of Vox Reaper's story
