The only Alpha game I ever played was Alpha 3, so I didn't really think about those two, I was thinking Alpha 3 and SF4 and what-not

But... but... if they add Carlos, they will be acknowledging that Final Fight 2 is a thing!
They can pretend it never happened with Maki, but when you cross the line and bring up Carlos, they have no other option than say "Look, FF2 happened!" and they just won't do that.

It's not Street Fighter 2 or Alpha. Even the Street Fighter 3 cast is practically "extended universe" status, let alone Final Fight 1 characters.

the only ff character i like is haggar but we all know he can't be on sf except if they decided to revamp his moveset or remove zangief. can't wait for akira's anouncement crossing my fingers.

They did say there was no 360 motion in the game. Either they just meant "at the moment" or Zangief is in trouble, and Haggar is, in fact, pretty viable. Unless Hugo+Alex are enough.

Guy's profile in the Alpha games (concerning who his master was) make the Final Fight sequels non-canon so the appearances of sequel-only characters will make plotholes.

They could just as easily retcon stuff though.
