Thanks dude, hopefully we will soon. Just spent a few hours sketching this. Trying to recreate his walking animation from SF1 for his intro. Just have to color it now and add heads:

This is very interesting. You're doing a great job. I'd love to see him, Geki, and Retsu come to life. Keep up.

Thanks a lot dude. It will probably be a while before I can finish Geki and Retsu, but yeah it would be cool to have them playable in an SF Alpha Game some day. Here is some more progress on Ryu:

Alright, here's my first attempt at his walking animation. Just have to re-color the hair. I knew this was going to be the most difficult animation to make, but just wouldn't feel like 1987 Ryu without it:

Great job, Silent. I know that's very difficult to sprite from scratch. If you separate the sprites into frames, you can tweak the shading in or for an animation in GIMP, Photoshop, GraphicsGale, or whatever you're using.

Thanks dude. Yeah I did that earlier actually. Just finished this too, just have to color the hair. The middle 3 frames were the hardest because I had to do a few parts of it from scratch, but I wanted to re-create his old hurricane kick. Was thinking too that if they ever put this version of Ryu in a pre SF-Alpha game, maybe in his ending they could have him say something like, "Time to get a haircut now, and to lose these red shoes!" Btw, credit goes to Spriter's Resource for the SF1 Ryu sprites:

Edited the eye color on the portrait to make it look more like his SF1 colors. Also, added the block, the crouch, and the crouching lk animations:

Just finished these. He's almost done, just have to do a few minor sprites now like the ones where he gets up, hits the ground and turns around. Also need his throws. But I guess you could technically call him finished. Still need to color his hair:

If someone could palette swap these to Ryu's colors or at least give me these sprites for him I would really appreciate it, would save me a few hrs. If not, it's fine, will just have to re-color it pixel by pixel. Also a shout to the Fox Mage for the Ken sprites that I used earlier, to Yawackhary for the SF1 sprite sheet that I consistently referenced when making this, and to Croix for a few of the Akuma sprites that I had to use when I couldn't find them in the Ryu sheet ripped by Shirt Ninja. Without them, this wouldn't have been possible:
