Welcome to...
Garfieldfan's Blueprint Workshop!
There's character ideas I have. And I do have to study my sources well. That's what this area is for, any non-fighting game character movesets that I come up with. If there is a source for a move, I take note of it. There might not be a ton of characters that'll be on here, but I assure you there is love and care put into these movesets.
Movesets on the back-burner: 2
Movesets to possibly revise: 1
Movesets that need minor revisions/are complete: 2
Characters:
Spoiler: Garfield (click to see content)
(Sprite by Wlan Productions)"I'll rise, but I won't shine."A version of the lasagna-loving, Monday-hating cat with a moveset mostly composed of references from various sources.
Garfield plays similar (but not exact) to a MvC-style character. He has moves that work better up close and some that are better for playing keep-away.
Moveset is a collab effort with me and Wlan.
Specials:Hackin' Hairballs (Based on comic from: 12/28/1987)Garfield does what cats do best. (Air OK, with another version able to be performed in air as well)
Cat Cannonball (Based on the first live-action movie and slightly on the comic from 8/16/1983)Garfield lunges himself upwards in a cannonball, causing a knockdown which happens sooner on the medium varient. Heavy varient causes a shockwave that trips any nearby opponent.
Cat Pounce (Origin: Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl)Garfield leaps forward, pouncing into anyone that dares get in his way. Essentially his version of Kung Fu Palm, if that makes sense.
Happy Day (Based on Nick All-Star Brawl and this)Looks like Garfield's trying to drive Jon crazy again. He spins around twice for the light variant, 4 times for medium and 6 for heavy. Garfield finishes with a take on one of his neutral moves from NASB.
Remote Possibilities (Origin is episode of same name)Garfield pulls out a remote as an item spawns. Activating the same command (even with a different button strength) will activate the item. The items are as follows:
- Light: An alarm clock. Activated, it moves forward dealing tiny damage, but it leaves you open for a large combo.
- Medium: A toy car. Slightly stronger than a regular trip, but is more useful if you can't get up close and personal.
- Heavy: A TV. Activating it will turn on The Binky Show. Stuns with little damage at "HEEYYYY," knockback with more damage at "KIIIIDDDSS!" When hit, the TV explodes, and will take you with it, so be careful.
Hammy Fakeout (Origin: Basket Brawl)Garfield brings out a ham, to which if the opponent strikes him, he calls Odie, who causes an unblockable knockdown. (Counter; costs 1/2 power bar; maybe considering replacing)
Hypers:Chili Con Flame (Origin: Cactus Jake Rides Again)Garfield downs a whole plate of Cactus Jake's chili, to which he forgets that he adds various spices to it. Works like a fire-based version of the vomit move in Warner's Peter, but takes way less startup time. Air version's ending knocks him back and allows him not to get hit, but in return, it takes him longer to recover. (Level 1 hyper; Air OK)
Caped Avenger (comic-inspired)Garfield becomes his most well-known alter-ego and charges at the opponent before coming in for a landing. (Level 1 hyper; Air OK)
What's On Now? (Origins: Remote Possibilities, Monday Misery for ending of move; Inspired by The_None's Beavis)Garfield pulls out the remote and fires a projectile. If it connects, the opponent changes into Nermal. Garfield then presses another button that makes a piano fall on the opponent, dealing a ton of damage. (Level 3 hyper)
Spoiler: Monday Garfield (click to see content)

A alternate version of Garfield that focuses on stronger versions of attacks and different attacks overall, as well as a few original moves.
Specials:Hackin' HairballsBasically the same as the original.
Feral Cat (Origin: Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl)Garfield leaps into the air and strikes down. Unlike the original move, Garfield can hit opponents on the way up and also can't hit on the landing state.
Cat Pounce (Origin: Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl)Stronger version of the original.
Another MondayStronger version of Happy Day that ends with a downward slash instead.
Monday Luck (comic-inspired)Garfield ducks down as a lightning cloud spawns in (with how far away depending on button strength) and strikes the opponent. There is a chance the cloud can strike you, so be cautious.
Hypers:Fat Cat Beatdown (inspired by madoldcrow1105's Rigby)Garfield lunges towards an opponent, and when hit, delivers a small beatdown to the opponent before launching them up with a guitar that breaks easily. (Level 1 hyper)
Sawdown (Origin: 6/1/1987)Garfield attempts to stun the opponent, which if successful, a saw appears under the opponent. Said saw creates a hole which makes the opponent fall down... onto Garfield, who experiences some recoil. (Level 1 hyper; unable to perform at 450 health or lower)
I'm Not DeclawedGarfield attempts to claw the opponent in a small leap forward. If successful, Garfield will repeatedly slice opponent with said claws before finishing with a powerful body slam. (Level 3 hyper)
Spoiler: SpongeBob SquarePants (click to see content)
(Original sprite by MyYoutube Rocks, edited by me)"As long as these pants are square, and this Sponge is Bob... I will not let you down!"A version of SpongeBob with a moveset mainly based on episodes of the show, as well as other sources sprinkled in here and there.
Specials:Giant Pearl, 100 Feet in the Air (Origin: The Smoking Peanut)SpongeBob fires a crumpled-up hat from his mouth at different stregnths and speeds, depending on the button strength. (Air OK)
Hydrodynamic Spatula (Origin: Help Wanted)SpongeBob uses Spat to fly up into the air; how long depends on move strength. Press any punch button at the end of the heavy varient to have the sponge fly straight ahead of him, adding a few more hits to the move. Move only goes straight when performed in the air. (Air OK)
Pie Bomb (Origins: Dying for Pie and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl)SpongeBob throws out the exploding pie out, which activates upon being touched by an opponent. Damage doesn't change as only the pie's thrown length depends on move strength.
A Game of Leapfrog! (Origin: Gary Takes a Bath)SpongeBob leaps forward, feet in front. How far and how strong depends on the move varient.
Tippy Toes! (Origin: Super Brawl 2)SpongeBob's Liu Kang-ish flying kick. (Air OK)
Hypers:Snowball Barrage (Origin: Snowball Effect)SpongeBob fires a funnel full of snow at the opponent like a machine gun that fires snowballs. (Level 1 hyper)
The Quickster (Origin: Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy V)"Wanna see me run to that mountain and back? ...Wanna see me do it again?"SpongeBob becomes one of his superhero alter-egos and runs from one side of the screen to the other (more like Sadclaps than the Meggy concept below, as he moves from the end of the screen to the beginning) as he repeatedly runs into the opponent. He can be hit, but due to how fast he moves and the hitbox covering Quickster being larger than most of SpongeBob's moves, it can be a little hard to do so. (Level 1 hyper)
Reef Blower (Origin: Squidville; inspired by the mechanic in the game SuperSponge)SpongeBob dons a reef blower and sucks the opponent in, only to fire them at a block which drops on them. Be warned that the startup for this move has a much shorter range than you'd expect, only except it's not as short. (Level 2 hyper)
Goofy Goober Rock (Origin: The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie)SpongeBob dons his Rock Wizard outfit and surrounds himself in a force field that damages anyone around him which fires lasers as well. (Level 3 hyper; Air OK)
Spoiler: .GIFfany (Gravity Falls) (click to see content)
(Sprite by Shimmering Brony)"And I'm sure you'll never abandon me... new boyfriend!"A version of the yandere schoolgirl from a haunted game based solely on her main power, electricity, as well as the fact she's stuck in a fighting game in-universe.
.GIFfany's moveset is similar in design to Uncle Joel. Part of it is generic shotoclone stuff, while other parts have references to the episode she originates from, Soos and the Real Girl.
Specials:Static ChargeYour standard Hadouken-style move. (Air OK)
Static SlashIori Yagami's 100 Shiki Oniyaki, only except there's electricity instead of flames, and .GIFfany strikes the opponent to finish the move. The second strike can be canceled into Corkscrews Across Devices.
Bow Strike.GIFfany buries one side of her bow ribbon into the ground, striking from a set distance depending on button strength.
Corkscrews Across DevicesBasically M. Bison's Psycho Crusher, with a more
shocking twist. (Air OK)
Carry My Books?.GIFfany carries a stack of schoolbooks with the comeout depending on button strength, up to three hits with the strong version. (counter)
Hypers:Read-Only File.GIFfany surrounds herself in an electric force-field that harms anything surrounding it but herself. (Level 1 hyper; Air OK)
Hey Look A Squid!.GIFfany summons a tentacle out of the ground, which attempts a grab. If successful, it swings the opponent around and finishes by slamming them into the ground. (Level 1 hyper)
Move To... (inspired by Microsoft Windows 2000 and partially by The_None's Clippy).GIFfany's take on KFM's Smash Kung Fu Upper. She launches an opponent up and 4 folders are summoned. Several files fly from 2 folders to 2 others. Aesthetics for this hyper are based on Windows 2000 (which the decision for this is based on the "Year 2000 Electronics" joke in her origin episode). (Level 2 hyper)
Urge to Delete.GIFfany poses, to which she pauses after a hit. However, when hit, she strikes back by grabbing the opponent and attempts to delete the opponent, taking a large amount of health in the process. The character completely disappears if used as a finisher. (Counter; Level 3 hyper)
Spoiler: Marina Liteyears (Mischief Makers/Yuke-Yuke!! Trouble Makers) (click to see content)
"Do you know what time it is? Well? ...Wrong!! It's Boss Time!!"The Ultra-Intergalactic Cybot G herself. While most of the game she comes from depends on grabbing and shaking, this incarnation is inspired by her being in the Super Smash Bros. mod Smash Remix, where has more physical attacks.
Throwing Mechanic:Marina doesn't have a standard throw. She depends solely on four different ones depending on the direction after grabbing an opponent. Marina can...
Up = do her famous "Shake, shake!" before she tosses them forward.
Down = slam the opponent to the ground.
Left = toss the opponent behind her, much like a standard throw.
Right = hit the opponent with a headbutt as she moves forward.
Specials:Clancer BombMarina picks up the aforementioned item and tosses it towards an opponent. How far it's tossed depends on the move strength. (Air OK)
Afterburner UppercutYour standard Shoryuken type move, just like in Smash Remix.
Hypers:Gunner FrenzyMarina picks up a machine gun you pick up in one of the dessert levels and fires away for a brief period of time. (Level 1 hyper)
Afterburner SlamdownMarina picks up the opponent before launching high into the air with her Afterburner and slamming them into the ground. (Level 1 hyper)
Gold GemMarina holds up a Gold Gem for a few seconds before a chunk of her health is restored. Only able to be used once per round. (Level 2 hyper)
Blockman RisesMarina lifts up Teran and blasts off into the sky, before slowly decending riding his alternate form, Blockman, who delivers two additional slams from each arm. (Level 3 hyper)
Spoiler: Meggy Spletzer (SMG4) (click to see content)
"You just got REKT by the upcoming star, Meggy!"
Meggy's kit is surprisingly easy to come up with, with her being a former Inkling and all. All moves not labled with a SMG4 episode as its origin is lifted directly from the usual Inkling kit.
Specials:
Splatershot
Meggy pulls out a Splattershot and fires a brief 3/5 hits that deal okay damage (depending on if it's light or medium). Heavy version has her fire a fast yet powerful shot that makes airborne opponents fall down, with the aerial version knocking down anyone. (Air OK)
Splat Bomb
If you play Inkling in SSBU, you should know how this works. Range and power depends on move strength.
Tornado Kick (Origin: Wild, Wild Mario)
Actually, this is just Street Fighter's Tatsumaki, but considering she did something similar in the episode mentioned, it seems fitting for her to have.
Hypers:
Shell Surfin' (Origin: SMG4 Gets Sued)
Meggy hops on an incoming Green Shell and starts ramming into the opponent from both sides. She can, however, be knocked off of said shell. (Level 1 hyper)
Mustard Trouble (Origin: Mario Reacts to Nintendo Memes 11 ft. Meggy)
Meggy stuffs the opponent into a mustard barrel and gives it a kick. The barrel until destroyed can hurt the opponent's teammate. (Level 1 hyper)
HERE'S MEGGY! (Origin: POV: You're Mario; slightly inspired by Uncle Joel's "Nuke Norway")
Meggy's answer to the Shun Goku Satsu. She throws the opponent into the level end castle and beats the living tar of of both them and Bowser. If used to finish the opponent off, a special winpose featuring SMG4 will play instead of a regular one. (Level 3 hyper)
