UPDATE!:

Today's the day!  I am getting everything put together right now.  I did run into a few problems with voice files so not everything is exactly how I want it, but that will be resolved in a patch later down the line.  The link will be posted right here later today.

I've re-done a lot of stuff and put the near final touches on the screen pack:








As of right now there are still a few things that I want to fix before making this public, but there is too much to do before I release everything.  Having said that, here's the plan:

1.  I will be releasing 3-4 characters to start
2.  As I polish things off, I'll release the rest of the characters one by one (likely every couple of weeks or so).
3.  This game needs way more stages, so those will be coming as time progresses too.

Honestly, there are only a few things holding me from releasing this now; one is the place-holder voices that I currently have that I want to replace, and two - a few minor balancing issues here and there.  I also would like to update every character to true HD at some point soon, given that I have 2 that currently are in full HD (this may not come immediately).  I am also going to be releasing a few youtube videos that outline the features of this game.  A lot of them are unique and need a bit of show and tell to get the message across correctly.  I'll also be uploading some combo videos to show off what this game can do!

Unfortunately, as I have said before, this game is intended to play as a full game and thus, the characters will not be made compatible with other characters.  There are too many custom states and a unique damage scaling/unscaling system that make balanced compatibility impossible; not to mention that the game flat out crashes when trying to load in other characters.  I am confident that  you'll all like the game anyhow.



Finally, I'd like to announce the official title of the game - "RUMBLE PACK".  No more Cross Fighter!  I'll check later to see if I can get this board's name changed, but if not, oh well.

Battle system update

A short hop technique was added to all characters.  If the jump direction is lightly tapped, the character will jump at half height.  This can be useful to use air attacks on standing and crouching targets.

Kinda strange but I woke up today and her hand was on my ass cheek
I won't suspect anything though I'll take it she was sleeping and didn't notice
you should have flipped over slowly

You're telling me you've never seen this technique before? SNK used it nearly all the time.

You're telling me you've never seen this technique before? SNK used it nearly all the time.

Early SNK games had short-hopping?  I wasn't aware of that at all.

The very early ones didn't, but around 95&96, they started using it. It was implemented in Art of Fighting 3, Fatal Fury from FF3 and onwards, Garou, KoF from KoF96 and onwards, and Last Blade. The only stuff they didn't use it in were the Savage/Reign Kizuna Encounter games, Buriki One, (which was a true 3D fighter with no jump at all,) and Samurai Shodown.

Will the characters in the beta be compatible for normal winmugen like you said a while back?
GOH: bmc would tell birds that they're broken because they shouldn't air recover.

Unfortunately no they will not be as there are a ton of custom states that normal mugen characters wont have.

Will there be any consideration for MUGEN 1.1 compatibility?

I know 1.1 is far from a release candidate, but will you hold off until it is released?

I have huge plans for this game that will not be possible until 1.1 is released.  I was unable to get in on the beta, unfortunately, but what I have read the features are what I have been looking for for a very long time.

Tons of changes actually!  Way too many to list right now, but many of the fighting styles' special abilities got re-worked or replaced altogether, on top of a few unique implementations.  I am working on a full demo video that is going to show off everything in this game and is going to serve as a video instruction manual that will show off the basics.  I am also working on an in-depth wiki-style page as well as a website specifically for this game.  Keep an eye out here as more will be posted regarding all of this right here.

Naw its fine, we all know life is unpredictable. Just glad to know you're still at this, very fantastic update video. I really love that you named the "grooves" the way you did. I just hope I don't get a headache with the combo possibilities like I did with a certain person's Goku.

Anyway, watched the video, and everything is really looking great. Everything, from graphics to gameplay, grooves, combo possibilities, etc. seems to have been worked on very well. Can't wait to test the fist beta. :)

Alright, so I've done just about everything I can think of for this game to be ready.  All that is left is to record voices for everyone and it will be ready!

Forewarning though, I am trying a new system out that (for the most part) ignores juggle counting, so I know there are some infinites.  I have knocked out a few obvious ones, but I'm hoping to catch them all as time progresses.  Infinites should still be very difficult to do because of certain things that are in play, but I'll go over that more later.

In terms of a release date, it's looking like June 17th will be the day!

Today's the day!  Im getting everything packed and ready to go and it will all be posted in a bit.  I've also put together a small strategy guide that may help with a few things, though I did not have the time to explain everything as much as I would have liked.  You'll find the guide in the main folder. 

As of this release, only 3 characters are available, but as I get everything else ready to go, I'll release it bit by bit.

I hope you're all as excited as I am!

The frame rate is low on my computer, it's all choppy.  :'( It could be either my computer's a piece of crap, or something is not right on the game.

Unfortunately, everything in the game is HD so it may not run very well on some computers.  You may want to make sure that the video settings are direct x and you're running it in full screen.

I'm sorry if it still doesn't run so great.  I really wanted it to look as best as I possibly could.
