So Im in the process of aligning combos and making custom hit effects at the moment. Expect a beta sometime this month, but that is not the reason why I am posting.

The main reason I am posting is because I have a few questions about Mugen 1.0. How would I go about making a character 1.0 compatible only? Is there a certain version of Fighter Factory I should use? Im sort of new to this, so any help could be appreciated.

You don't need to use a specific version of Fighter Factory, no. If you want to be able to use 1.0-exclusive features, then you need to make sure that the version is set properly (make sure that "mugenversion = 1.0" is in the DEF, no quotes).

You don't have to do this, but once the mugenversion line is set properly, you can then use the localcoord feature (localcoord = 320,240, for instance) and the palette remap, which looks like this and goes into the DEF:

The numbers refer to which palette is bound to that button, so if you pick the character with the X button the it uses the first palette, for instance. Change it as you like.

If you use Fighter Factory Ultimate, though, you should avoid using the "Save All button" if you add the localcoord or the palette mapping. You do not have to add localcoord or the palette maps, though. It's up to you.

Thank you. It seems very confusing to me now, but when I get to converting it I think I could get it right. Thanks.

Also, what about quotes (after my character wins)? Where would I put that in the DEF?

For 1.0, or WinMUGEN? If you're going the 1.0 angle, then you don't even need to touch the DEF. If you want quotes for WinMUGEN, then I'm afraid I can't help.

Interesting.

If you want 8-bit instead of 16-bit, convert them from Virtua Fighter Mini.
My Mugen Wish List would include protagonists, mascots and other iconic characters with everything they have brought straight from their source with little or no editing.

  Looks good, I like the idea... Is there any way you could make him more 2D, like CVS or KOF style or something?

I did but its not with the most recent data. Im in the process of buying a new hard drive to replace my broken one. Hopefully all data will be there, but just in case, I'll still re-rip the sprites.
