What kind of characters do you like to see in a fighting game? Me, I like to see tall black fighters, like if Kareem Abdul Jabbar was in Street Fighter it would be an essential purchase.
Well I guess you can call me agentpussy I mean I'm getting more pussy than you ever will. Its nice that you can only get what you pay for.

If you like tall then you gonna like me.

Someone like Gato (MOTW) or Hwang (SC) who have cool designs, cool personality, cool moves, a bit different from the rest, has no clones, neutral/good (not bad) and some more I can't really think off the top of my head. [size=2pt](Hwang was a clone before but in SC3 his 'clone' attacks were cut and he only kept the attacks he was known for)[/size]

They are also characters who generally aren't the center of attention in terms of story, popularity, etc. Which is a good thing, for me.

I like variety in a roster.

The characters I'm most used to are obviously the ansatsuken characters : pretty basic and easy to use.
But it's really nice to be able to use grappler characters (Clark Steel FTW) or defensive ones (Guile and his two moves are enough to PWN anybody :sugoi:).

Plus, as Kei Dasshuu said, some nicely designed original characters make a good game, Gato and Oswald being part of the list.

Characters that have a new twist on gameplay, thus why I like Ivy, half the guilty gear cast, Nrvnqsr, etc.

I like characters that try to escape from over used stereotypes, while still managing to be sophisticated.  Guilty Gear series is a far out but good example of this.

It varies, sometimes I like using old favorites (Gouki in SF3), while sometimes I experiment (Iori, K', Ralf in KOF). Really depends on the game and who's actually in it, for the most part anywyas.

I always end up gravitating to the more wierd and wonderful characters ... so the likes of Dhalsim or Voldo.

What would a game which only contains Ninjas and Pirates look like?

I like the only kicks or only punches chars. Also good are exotic weapon users like spears, ball and chain, sickles, hammers...
