After 10+ years, I make an unexpected and abrupt return for no good reason to revisit something I did a long time ago, still available on Trinity MUGEN.

This is an accuracy-focused conversion of X from the PS1 games.  Great care has been taken in trying to replicate the original games as closely as possible, and for anybody who remembers my old attempt at converting X, let's just say this time around is considerably more precise in execution.

Like so long ago, this focuses on the core of X's gameplay, so subweapons are unfortunately not going to be present here.  Otherwise, what you can do in the original games is also what you can do with this one.

NOTE: Not fully compatible with IKEMEN-Go, palette issues are a known problem.
Also, Trinity MUGEN version may not be up to date if an update was just released.

Grab him here, or by clicking the screenshot, or from Trinity MUGEN!

Great X! But, his buster shot & dash booster sprites have messed up palettes.

Which version of the engine are you running on?  1.0, 1.1b, or a flavor of IKEMEN?

If it's IKEMEN, I'm not sure what I can do.  The issue is it's implementation of RemapPal, which is different to MUGEN's as it remaps the palettes of all effects in addition to those of helpers.  That is what is causing the issue.

Update released!

    Changes:
    • Armorless hover animation now has hit boxes
    • Added "crouch dash" -- press Dash while crouching to execute a slightly faster Dash with no startup time
    • ixed Armored kick climb animation
    • Converted charge visual effects into Helpers.  This increases visual accuracy to be more on par with the Anniversary Collection (and PS1) display methods for the effects
    • Fixed an issue where X's buster shot limit could be reached without clearing freed up slots, if uncharged shots were guarded within 5 frames of being fired
    • Fixed the air dash end state to allow for wall sliding and X-Buster interactions
    • Adjusted fall speed cap to a Y velocity of 7.5
    • Modified sound channel settings for some sounds
    • ixed air dash and X-Buster interaction
    • Corrected Z-Saber trigger conditions for greater accuracy
