When I was browsing about the ikemen go I realized that the plus ultra exists, my question is, which is better, the Ikemen Go 0.99.0 or the Plus Ultra 1.5?
I would say that the plain "Ikemen Go" is the more "official" version, with a developers team of well-known Mugen creators. I also think, that currenty, the Nightly version (as opposeed to 0.99) of "Ikemen Go" should also have the best Mugen compatibility, amongst all of the alternative engines.As for "Plus Ultra" - you may want to use it if you actually need any of the additional specific features that it has, for a full-game project for example.
Plus Ultra has a number of built-in fullgame features, but nowhere near the level of MUGEN compatibility as Go; it doesn't even support screenpacks, they have to be coded in Lua.Realistically, the only reason you'd use Plus Ultra is if you can't run Go.
You're allowed to use both lol. Honestly it's a shame to see a good dev put so much effort into an inferior and antiquated engine.
It's not a really a waste because CD2 (the repo mantainer) doesn't think of Plus Ultra as a "competition" to Ikemen Go, it's his pet project and he enjoys adding new features as a learning exercise."The only race is against yourself" and all that.
