Obviously, I agree with the new viewpoint. I think one of the problems is that people forget that this is a game. People make characters for others to joy. And it somehow got lost throughout the years. It's weird coming into the community when the restriction was highly enforced, and to now see the freedom.

By "we" you mean who? The ones you arbitraily promoted? Because I'm pretty sure Vince didnt see this coming, as well as a lot of the former staff.

Vince was indeed out of the discussion and had no knowing this would happen.

Most of the existing staff wouldn't have gone along with the new rule changes and such.  They couldn't be included.

Which is where we go back to square ONE about arbitrary demotions. "You don't agree with me, well screw you" *DEMOTED*

Change can be a good thing, this sadly isnt.

that's correct.

the concept was tried before, but it always failed because of discussions, those who were against it SOMEWHAT represented their opinion, those who didn't care about creator rights remained silent because they didn't care about all the politics shit. we had to do it in one big pull, and since some of the old staff members were in favor of this whole thing we couldn't talk to them before doing it without risking a big debate. so we didn't.

"we" being everyone who is staff now, except rikard. initiated by sepp, former admin who wanted to do this earlier but didn't think it would work out then and without proper preparation.

*Sigh* but how else do we ask permission to people that are almost impossible to find like Aoao, M@ppy and others?
If we asked they would let us use anyway...

But again opensoucing aaall and everything, maybe just was too much... oh well.

If too many saw this coming it would have been a disaster. I tried this 3 years ago and tried to be as informative as I could to the staff and the developers. Just by mentioning it many people began bashing, Random Select was formed, and it ended in utter chaos.

People in general don't want change. They want the safety of the familiar, they at times cling to it even if change is for the better.

Some people had to be left out of the loop for various reasons.
EDIT: Lots of posts that said the same thing I did o_O
