alright well now that i've actually started work, into the projects topic you go

original topic
biographies. because every bootleg fighting game needs story.

and some screenshots. really only joden and aqua have been started but due to the minimalist system applied by most of the actual bootleg fighters, this shouldn't take long




lastly, a list of the characters and their status/home stages/themes/whatever the fuck

Joden (Top Fighter)
Status: all sprites done, coding some of the specials
Stage: his original stage from Top Fighter 2000 (by DrKelexo)
Theme: his original theme from Top Fighter 2000

Leo. (Leonardo from World Heroes 2)
Status: not started. will use sprites from TMNT Tournament Fighters.
Stage: ????
Theme: ????

Cycl (King of Fighters 99, the 'evil' Cyclops)
Status: not started. will need to rip sprites from kof 99.
Stage: His original stage from Top Fighter 2000 (not done yet)
Theme: His original theme from Top Fighter 2000, which seems to be in every bootleg genesis fighter ever.

Canme (King of Fighters 98, the 'evil' Cammy)
Status: not started. will need to rip sprites from kof 99 (or just edit some ssf2 sprites)
Stage: ????
Theme: ????

Uruk Hai (Lord of The Rings)
Status: not started. will need to rip sprites from lotr
Stage: most likely his original stage from LOTR
Theme: ????

Kaf Ka (Battle Monsters, will be incorrectly labeled as a 'Mortal Combat character')
Status: not started. will need assistance in ripping battle monsters sprites again
Stage: most likely the 'demon arena' from weaponlord (by DrKelexo)
Theme: ????

Aqua (fake character from mk trilogy)
Status: all basics, sprites, voices and gethits done, a special added that needs tweaking and a super has been added
Stage: Gees's stage from Top Fighter 2000 (by DrKelexo)
Theme: 'Seventh Force' from Alien Soldier

Ali (Top Fighter)
Status: not started. will need to rip sprites.
Stage: most likely his original stage from top fighter
Theme: most likely his original theme from top fighter

Jantaro (Bahn from V Fighter vs Taken 2)
Status: not started. will need to rip sprites.
Stage: ????
Theme: ????

Lee Chowlan (Lee Chaolan from Tekken 3 Special)
Status: currently ripping sprites for now.
Stage: most likely 'china' from deadly moves (by DrKelexo)
Theme: ????

Yeain (Laurence Blood from World Heroes 2)
Status: not started. will use sprites from fatal fury 2 by yawackhary.
Stage: ????
Theme: ????

Treey (King of Fighters 98/99, the 'evil' Terry)
Status: not started. will need to rip sprites.
Stage: ????
Theme: ????

Lobaut (King of Fighters 98/99, the 'evil' Robert)
Status: not started. will need to rip sprites.
Stage: ????
Theme: ????

Aragorn (Lord of the Rings)
Status: all sprites and basics done, a beta projectile has been added, will need to rip voices, and add gethits
Stage: most likely his original from lotr
Theme: same deal as above

Hazama/Ten Count (either would be edits from Michael Jackson's Moonwalker) scrapped for now.

Yoko (Mortal Combat II)
Status: not started. like aqua, will be an edit of mk1 genesis sprites, this time with kano
Stage: ????
Theme: ????

Nightwolf (Ture Mortal Kombat 3)
Status: not started. will use shao kahn's genesis mk2/mk3 sprites AND then will be palette swapped.
Stage: ????
Theme: most likely 'black sheep' from alien soldier since final boss and all.

so yeah not much else, just keepin' track here...

not exactly...the kof bootlegs weren't really kof style at all so

also more screenshots of progress and stuff




yeah. gonna have to lower the resolution to standard because this is fuckin' ugly up close...

okay, well my interest in this project has been revived, and i've been pissed off that i've let so many projects go. so this is gonna get fuckin' finished i tell you.

the final roster has been cut in half to only 10 characters and one final boss that will remain secret:

1. Joden
2. Aqua
3. Aragorn
4. Cycl
5. Hokuto (from the SFEX pirate, new addition)
6. Ali
7. Sofittia (Soul Blade super, new addition; i of course purposely screwed up her name)
8. Canme
9. Treey
10. Paki Guile (a silly guile edit a friend did in a video a long long time ago; figured it would be weird enough to put into here)

the resolution has changed from HD to standard 320x240. because it...kinda DOES make it feel like a genesis bootleg that way strangely enough. it also makes the lifebar/screenpack editing, which this will be my first time doing, pretty simple until i work my way up to other resolutions if i pursue making screenpacks and whatnot in the future.

lastly this is a chart of the progress that has been made. not all characters for certain will have only two special moves (although they all will have only one super), but it's the minimum. oh yeah and strangely enough, there don't seem to be snes/genesis rips of neither cammy nor guile, so i may have to manually rip those until further notice

the chart is actually already outdated. i just finished his two special moves and i'm moving onto his super and gethits for now, as well as deciding which stage he should have

so...that's about it. stay tuned i guess?
