Look fantastic! Speaking of Pocket Rumble, that got me hooked recently! I'd love to see it come to life.

As I stated on dA, I love it, and SXGodzilla gets points for design. :)

Just one question I have, do you choose your CPS3 colors from pre-existing characters, or do you mess around with palettes on whatever program you use?

I'm terrible doing palettes, I choose them depending of the style.

This time I was going to browse zweifuss.ca but it's down so this time I visited sf palettes. I could have visited The Fighters Generation but not all of the chars there have the different palettes.

So yes, I base from an original palette and create 1 or 2 tones if it's necessary. I create a tone making lighter or darker an actual color. Some times I adjust the RGB color values to a multiple of 8=(8,16,32,56,64,128,248...)

That's a very interesting read, I'm currently experimenting on coloring on the current CPS3 requests I'm doing, so the whole adjusting values to the multiple 8 sounds nice. I might give it a try, thanks man. :)

If this helps you for when making palettes in SF3 style, here's an image of what I do:

This is an image showing a some palettes I've done for a couple of SF3 sprites, the breakdown is more or less like this:

I always change the hue (red->pink, green->cyan, blue->purple, etc) as the shades go darker.
The Outline colors are usually for the Light colors, though some times they can be used for Shadow colors depending on how dark they are. The Outline colors are usually very saturated, too.
For the Shadow colors I make a less saturated and colder selection of colors than the Light ones. The brightest Shadow shade has almost the same amount of brightness (numerically speaking, whether a bit darker or lighter) as the darkest Light shade on the specific part of the character.

Hope this helps if you have trouble with making original palettes, I know it can be hard some times depending due to things like amount of colors, detail, etc.

Thank you for sharing your method but I still like to use official palettes and tweak them just a little, being a paletter isn't my thing at all, in fact I'm a bit daltonic :P and using f.lux doen't help at nighttime.

Here's an extension from the latest works:

Study the language. I applied for a scholarship last year but I was lacking the language, I'm also creating books to learn radicals and kanjis by my own, I may publish the books for an asian languages center here in my city.

About the commissions, we can't compare them to the super-spoiled prices I was holding just to you for being my first customer but I hope you like the actual prices!

NIHOOON SUGOI.

In Canada, there is this program we have called JET, where you are sent as either an Assistant Language Teacher or a Coordinator for International Relations (90% of the time, it's the former), which I plan on going to to gain work experience for a Masters Degree once I finish this bullshit undergrad baccalaureate here.

Maybe we might meet up (if you're going to stay there for a while) :P

Either way, good luck getting the commission money, and make sure to take lots o pics of the Nihon-desu :P

Nah it's ok, I usually take skin colors from official palettes and modify them when finishing a sprite, I can understand having trouble with palettes overall. Didn't know about the slightly daltonic bit though... but eh I was just trying to help  :mtongue: . For what it's worth the colors in your sprites still look pretty good and consistent.

Nice to see you're doing commissions again, and have a nice trip to Japan! Hope everything goes well for you there.

Thank you guys.

No problem, daltonic or not the palettes aren't my forte.

I don't know I'm not going to stay for too long in Japan, not this time I mean, the scholarship lasts 2 years.

The upcoming trip is with EF just for a month.

So yeah I emptied my virtual savings for this trip, it's a bless and a curse that the Dollar costs way more than my local currency.

I will!

Yes I had the same impression but compared to her stance she is quite big when she extends her legs, I'm aware that the ones I did have the legs open with a different angle:

When I was starting, the sprites I did were smaller, but since I'm reusing some of her transitional frames for the animation (2nd and 3rd ones from the sheet) she looked squished (stance) then big (transition frames) and once again squashed (my first version) and that didn't look good in my opinion.

So that's why.
