  • Coming Soon?
Lately there have been more and more topics being posted that are more ideas then actual MUGEN WIP's they aren't even showing any sprite work or a detailed write up or anything.

check out this topic for instance http://mugenguild.com/forumx/index.php?topic=68834.0

This section of the forum used to be a place where one could get excited about new things for mugen now it is just a joke.

I don't know if Tony was part of the change conspiracy or what but the WIP section was a lot better in his hands.  I am not saying put it all back to before the change but at least do something about it.

just my humble opinion

I agree with Phil.

I'd also would like more feedback/involvement for the actual projects. Nowadays, threads about warez and that type of things (drama) get way more attention  :S. Yeah, too bad I can't control teh masses :P.

I nominate Tony for mod .

Well only thing that really need enforceing is the spritegif type threads.

Now there are exceptions mind you but usualy anyone can tell the diffrence between "potential" and doing it for the "lol" effect or just the seriousness of how the hopeful creator has the character planed out and what he is doing.

iced has the right idea.
we got rid of the stricter guidelines for projects because they were excessive. post two screenshots if it's an original character post an animated gif if it's a capcom character post three screenshots if it's christmas ETC. ETC. ETC. seemed very disencouraging.

drama threads get more attention. they're more entertaining. it's like that in every forum ever.

Hum. I only read the first two pages of that thread, it looks like a feasible idea with a sufficiently motivated guy, he just made the thread two weeks too early.

Rules are okay as they are - but rule number two should be applied more often. Or give an example in the rules thread of what would be a good idea to show, yes people are that stupid it makes sense to do that.

Since my name was mentioned....

I'm not saying "please give me back my section" or anything.

but, just for the records, when I became mod, the guild as a whole were a more strict place.
my rules just reflected what was the overall feel of the board back then.

the "screenshots or die" thing on the last days was just because the ammount of ... "fake wips" became so huge (even with strict rules. even tough they were already a "soft" version of the original ones) that someone had to stop it. and since this was my job...

but hey, it was good while it last.

i just think the ones that actually suffer with topics like the one linked on the first post are those who are actually working on something, and need some feedback/help during the making. after all, this topics will always be pushed to the 2nd, 3rd page due to the massive ammount of "fake wips".

but that is just my opinion.

it's obvious that people who are only posting what ifs would be too lazy for posting screens cuz it says it's not worth it

GREAT FIX ONIZUKA
@Valodim: make it so in teh projects sections the pages list the latest 50 topics. taht should solve the "real wips are pushed to the second page" problem until self moderation starts doing it's fucking job.

I actually don't remember the reasons given to not keep you on the new staff. I thought you did a good job as moderator personally.

Went like this:

"And Tony?"

"Well maybe he--oh wait. Did you see his recent screenshots or die WIP rules?"

"No. Damn. Next."

my rules just reflected what was the overall feel of the board back then.

Since you still want to help again even though you've been "let out," you're clearly forgiving and welcome.

I'm only a litte afraid that you might want to begin to "stop things" again after a while and get harsher and harsher over time because there will "always" be stupid people posting stupid things and fighting that is usually frustrating. But if you simply help where you can when you feel like it and don't have the desire to "control" events too much, yay.

Cybaster, you can't be "official" mod no more. It was a close call but in the end if you're both French and Titiln doesn't like your jokes... XD But please do proceed with "inofficial" moderation as per usual, it is approved. =D

Aaaand the idea is to get "everybody" to do more when something needs doing, instead of just always pressing "report to moderator" so they'll "fix it" or something. A major reason behind the visible reports board:

"Well if I report this post and my reasoning and report is visible to everybody I might as well post those directly in the topic and try to solve reportable "problems" myself from time to time. Otherwise it might look like I'm some kind of ass, always just reporting other people right and left, pointing fingers at them."

Something.

sorry.

to be a mod at projects (the section being discussed), you should

Be Ice Cold (cooler than cool  8) ), Listen to Country hardcore, have afro hair, Wear Green all the time, Never have played Halo 3 (since you were busy with your own mugen projects) etc... etc...
