proper mod behavior would be deciding what to do with those stars and custom titles instead of paying so much attention to someone saying fags.

Make the stars permanent regardless of what people want because everyone can't be pleased. I'm going through the COTM list right now and giving everyone who ever won their star back.

It's time to be decisive. I'm not trying to step on toes, but enough is a enough. It's not that serious a discussion and it's near impossible for any decision regarding this issue to have a real impact on the functionality of the forum.

Most people seem to want the Month star for a year, and the Year star forever. So why not just go with that? The whole point of this poll was to get a decision, so why rush it?

Being decisive should not mean ignoring what everyone else is doing because it's not going fast enough for you.

It's too much work too keep a list of the people who won just to remove their star a year later. Even if it's not that much work, it's still not that serious. It's easier to make it permanent. I'm not ignoring everyone, I'm making it easier for everyone to get over this issue.

I suppose this seemingly simple question got hot and has brought up a few more irritating points as well as some malice, so I guess the sooner it's taken care of, the better.
If the CotM star is to be removed after a year, it still needs someone willing to do the chore (and if no one thinks about removing it, it might as well be forever), so it's probably just something you guys would need to discuss, and that doesn't need this topic.

Well, technically, I believe the CotY is based on the CotM of that year, so it should actually be very easy... But it's still a chore for you guys, so I agree.

It's pretty easy to do, whenever someone wins a month look up who won last year and take the star away. Simple and easy. Since I'm already doing all the CotM stuff I'll volunteer for the job!

it's really not that hard, it's changing the star for one user at the end of the month. you don't even need a special list, you just need to check the cotm winners thread

also the orange star should be used for cotm since the current one looks like shit

I was fine with the current system (CotM stays one month, CotY stays one year), but whatever you do is fine. It's not like it's a big deal lol.

Every winner has the CotM star back already. &gt;_&gt;

I think the character of the year should be the title star that people battle over every year as a title belt (it should change every year, but only if the winner changes). The CotM star should be a permanent token of everyone's accomplishment of making it into the CotY contest.

GM, Contributor, CotM, MFG Network.

I have my stars in this order :
MFG Network, Contributor, CotM, CotY.

Where is the consistency in the ordering of the stars !? >:(

Cyanide and Basara also have this problem (and possibly a few others I'm forgetting).

I noticed it a few months ago and tried to fix it and I thought I got it fixed for me (but couldn't replicate it with anyone else) but then it went back eventually, and then I don't remember if I posted about it anywhere but I guess I didn't but this is important dammit!

Just use the previous system. Or just make the COTM stars last a year for a respective month (April winner will have the star until the April winner of next year is announced and to each month respectively). I didn´t see a problem with the previous system at all.
