:-/ MUGEN does not work...

Hello, I just joined because I had downloaded winMUGEN from the MUGEN Wiki earlier. It was all because a friend of mine referred me to the game (after I watched him play a Naruto-based build) and my liking for fighting games of this style, from Mortal Kombat to One Must Fall.

I have downloaded these:

Original winMUGEN
---nolimit patches

Special winMUGEN build from the Wiki... the only link that worked -.-

So I unzipped them (the wiki's build into its own folder) and tried all builds... all of them come up with this:

Error message: Error registering plugin: looptype=1, plugins/lame.dll. mp3
Error reading data/mugen.cfg

I have no idea what would be wrong with the cfg file, but as I have only looked at it for a few minutes, I would not have been able to find anything out... there also seems to be something to do with the lame codec... if that is what that is...

My operating system is a 32-bit Windows XP Home, if that is necessary.

Special winMUGEN build from the Wiki?  o_O

Get Mugen here

http://unofficial-winmugen.jpn.org/ = No Limit Winmugen patch

After downloading, right click the .zip file and select extract here.

The inside of your mugen folder should look like this....

In your Mugen.cfg, you should see

plugin = plugins/in_mad.dll, mp3, mp2, mpg

in_mad.dll is in your plugins folder.

Try Winmugen.exe now.

If that doesn't work, try WinMugen Plus

http://mugenguild.com/forumx/index.php?topic=72678.0

I'm also using Windows XP and they work perfectly.

Thanks :)

edit: upon closer viewing, I found a problem in the cfg file of this other build that I was trying to get to work, apparently the person who redid the config file used a period after lame.dll instead of a comma...

=\
