Hi everyone. Now maybe theres already a topic about this, but i would like to talk about Emulators and Roms.Which programs you use?Which Roms you recomend? I know theres alot but i have no idea what they look like(i dont want to download if i dont know how good game is). Also there is lots of games on foreign languages(???)Please if its not too hard provide screenshots along with you reviews.List of emulators i use is short - MAME32 , SneS9x.
Depends on everything.Personally, my emulator arsenal includes SNES:ZsnesSnes9xNES:FCEUGenesis:GensKegaGameboy:VBAVBA-LinkDC:ChankastN64:PJ641964PSX:psxArcade:Final Burn AlphaMAMESometimes, when I really want to go hard on the hex editing, I simply play the game on MAME, regardless of the system, due I like it's cheat searching and debugging features.
wow i actually got ppl to replythank you guysAnd i just downloaded this:pretty good arcade game(MAME) i love the graphics and weapon choice, characters are not bad and im sure lots of us played this game at some point .BUT WHY IS IT SO EASY?(MAME)its all right but ive seen better arcade X-Man versions.also I downloaded bunch of other games like Captain Commando and Batman...bur i couldnt find the ultimate arcade game yet.
google is your friend... and when you're talking about games, it isn't a bad behavoiur, when you talking just about the games itself, isn't it?

Roms are perfectly legal, if you own the full games, like I do. The only time when i'll use Emulation, is when i'm traveling, and can't take a sega megadrive on a train. Or when i'm ripping sprites. Roms and Emulators are ok, it's certain people who use them, that's the problem. People take Roms and Emulators, and abuse them. If you see a compilation of Games on one CD on ebay, that's going to be a free emulator burned to a disk. another thing is people keeping them over the 24 hour time limit, emulation sites tell people this, and this is why those sites get into trouble. I don't know the rules for Arcade emulation, so I can't comment on that.I prefer to play the games on the actual consoles. Emulation doesn't give me that feeling, when I'm using the original console, the games are on.

I always delete my roms after 24-hours, I agreed to the terms and conditions by downloading them, and since I rarely have a real copy of the game it's not fair that I keep the game without paying for it.
There was NEVER a 24-hour limit rule. No one can anyone monitor each and every person in the world for it in the first place.
I just read what they say on the webpages, or they must have changed since the last time I went to a emulation page.
According to what I read on nintendo's website a few weeks ago: roms are only legal if you dumped them yourself. So even if you own the original cart or disk it is still illegal for you to download an image of it.EDIT: Here's the link http://www.nintendo.com/corp/legal.jsp

What is really the difference between a downloaded rom of something you own, and you dumping the rom.
And you don't risk breaking your own solid copy, forcing you to buy another and give them more money?

wowlots of informationhowever i delete my roms after couple hours just because i beat game pretty fast and have no interest after. And my main concern is MAME...ive been looking for games like Captain Commando lately...and found only couple that i demonstrated above(it was not review or anything...just an example of what i have).I own:N64Super NintendoGame CubeXboXPS2PSPNintendo DSnot that much but enough to prove a point that im not abusing "Emulators" haha
wasnt there a large debate awhile back about how even when you buy the game(s) the company still owns the rights to it even though YOU paid for it the creator still had some sort of ownership
