SF2Nes/SSF2Nes
Spoiler, click to toggle visibilty
Sf2nes is a Mugen full game that started development 10-15 years ago. It was co-created by myself and a dear friend of mine. Sprites for the characters were originally taken from old bootleg NES games, with custom sprites made by several people including me to give each character new moves, and to add several new characters to the game. Stages were ripped and edited by me, and the screenpack was ripped and programmed by me. Other graphics provided by Mantovao, Helios, and Mr. A.

SSF2Nes 1.0.3 This is the last release from the team that was working on it in the past and doesn't have any updates I've made to the game.
Current developers
I'm the only person working on the game at the moment. That could change but I have a development plan regardless of if this ends up being a team effort or a solo project. There is no involvement in any form from the co-creator of this project.
Why?

From the beginning of development of the project I've presented ideas and goals for the game that to this day haven't been met. The game was always just a fun little project for me and the other people who worked on it, but it has always felt incomplete. My goal is to try and complete the game now that I have reignited my interest in it.
Goals:

- Complete roster
- Finish stages for all characters
- Simple endings
- POLISHING! Lots of polishing! Screenpack touchups, intros taunts and winposes, other sprite work, small addons like shadows, stage edits etc
Character development plan:

The most time consuming and difficult part of the project will be spriting and programming new characters. I am pretty slow and methodical when it comes to programming, but the way I've been doing things so far has been to use placeholder sprites for the characters and program around that. Then edit the new sprites afterwards. This has worked out well for my first new character whose programming is mostly complete and almost ready for testing! I plan to use sprites from the SFA3 gameboy advance game, SSF2T and one more game for placeholders.
Name change?
Since resuming development I've considered a name change for the game for several reasons. Currently the name that I'm liking the most is Mighty Street Fighter, a play on the NES game Mighty Final Fight. SF2Nes has always has SNES music and particle effects for special moves, as well as breaking palette limitations in several ways. It's never really been truly NES so I figure that name would be more true to what it is.

Terry was removed from the game. I've never been a fan of crossover characters from outside of Capcom, and I messed up his sprites when I original made him(he's too small). Rather than revamping all of his sprites, I decided to pull him and keep the game purely Capcom.
CHANGELOG (this will be updated as I continue development)

Think that's it. I'm gonna try and finish this all the way to the end, but if I end up flaking out on it I'll at least let yall know this time. I've had a lot of fun doing Bison's new spriteset and working on Mike so far.
Speaking of Mike I'm gonna make a follow up post showcasing him. His programming is mostly complete outside of some touch ups but I'll be more specific in that post. If you have any questions or comments about the game you can post here or through PM.
Thank you all.
