The two characters in my signature are my favorite. Left is Yuki Morikawa and right is Rina Ogata. Some people say the blue one is OP since she has a combo that does a lot of damage. Really fun to do once you mastered the character.

Since you specifically mentioned OP characters I'd suggest Master Geese by Cannon Musume. A true classic.

Slightly OP or very OP ?

Evil Ryu and Evil Ken by Reu are slightly.
They'd fight well against Dream Bison, Fallen Vega (by Cannon Musume) SPEC OPS chars (by o ilusionista & Cie), Evil Dan, in a sort of Capcom remake classical game.

But they'd get destroyed by Rare Akuma by POTS.

There's also Guilty Gear characters by Muteki, in max AI level, who'd probably destroy your ass.

Where'd all the motivation go?

Here's a list of some of my personal favorites: not all, mind you, but be warned: it's a somewhat long list.

Seth, Hyde and Linne by Websta
- All three are source-accurate for the most part, and come with The_None AI.
Hibiki Takane by ZeroSennin
- The inclusion of Last Blade grooves is a nice touch. Challenging, yes, but not on The_None level (yet).
Dee Bee Kaw, Shaq and Segalow by The_None
- DBK: Lots of combo opportunities, and a beartrap that can stop PotS Geese's Reppukens cold. Just be wary of the sudden change in normal attacks and the sadistic AI.
- Shaq: The_None improves a character from a mediocre 2D fighter and then some. Warning: his Fast Food Rain DM OTGs, and his AI is likely to use it once you let it.
- Segalow: Take Rugal's sprites and make a (mostly) original character inspired by the Spy. (And some other people that I don't care as much about.) Watch out for Dead Ringer and Genocide Cutter's huge projectile.
Psychopath Kyo and Trouble Man by DrKelexo
- PsyKyo: Kyo Kusanagi was Frank West before Frank himself was in Mugen. Also, uniqueness +1 for ABK-based controls.
- T.M.: Combo opportunities up the wazoo, and the control scheme isn't too different from the PotS-style stuff that everybody seems to gobble up.
Makoto Yuki (P3Hero) by UN
- Why have one Stand when you can have at least 10?
Frank West by Balmsold and Kamekaze
- Just enjoy this fruit of hard work, okay?
Dragon Claw by ReubenKee
- Insert obvious reason here.
Jin Kazama and Squall Leonhart by SeanAltly
- Both characters play pretty solid. I'm a bit of a sucker for 4-button styles over 6-buttons, but then there's the issue of the PotS-style Hype Train...
- Jin: He's got his Tekken 4 hoodie, which is my personal favorite out of all his outfits. Wasn't a big fan of the classic shirtless + design pants combo.
- Squall: Not as Beat Fang-happy as my experiences with Ad-hoc Squalls in Dissidia, so +1. ~~Does he even have Beat Fang?~~
Shiki Nanaya by Ina
- It's got pretty much every move Nanaya had in Actress Again, and makes it fit so well into a KoF-inspired style that takes cues from XIII and 2002UM.
Geese Howard by PotS
- My personal favorite of PotS' creations, aside from Duck Hunt.

Hokuto by Deman
I have never any of the EX game but this Deman did such a great job that it almost feel as the real game
havent play mugen in awhile but those two are pretty much my favorite creation for the moment

Haggar by Sean Altly : Pretty much the best Haggar so far
Urien and Necro by Rajaa : SF3 was nailed with those two and they are some of the best example of accuracy

Seize the coveted miracle in the game of death.

Aiduzzi's characters - Just all of them, they are some of my favorite original (and frankenstein'd in Ubu's case) mugen characters ever.

Frank West by Kamekaze and Balmsold - Great character overall, nice mix of UMvC3 but with plenty of other original things about him.

Reu's characters - goes without saying, they are great.

Rajaa's SF3 characters (Urien and Necro) - the best SF3 characters in mugen imo, they are legitimately very good conversions from the system. Basically what CityHunter said.

Corpse by Ahuron - despite the lack of hitconfirms, this is one of the most engaging characters I've played in a while... the blood mechanic is really unique and allows for some interesting setups.

The_none's Missingno and Shaq - probably the "random" characters I have the most fun playing, they are so well made too.

OP characters:

Elque (though I have the more "balanced" version of him)
God Orochi
Demiurgos (I guess?)

Tetsu Yatogi by Big Eli King - Specifically, his R/W/B palette is just a fun character to play as.

Nayu Mizuhara by Ohgaki - Not a fan of Lolis. But this character has a tropical theme as well as taekwondo

Gygis by The_None - Whenever I get bored in MUGEN, I just throw characters at this thing and become entertained for hours.

• Captain Commando by Warusaki3 - man, he made him such a unique char, and the fact that he's more based on the beat 'em up counterpart is awesome.

• Hauzer by Mature4evr / T. Vinceson - the Capcom's funny dinosaur, kinda OP and I end up finishing arcade mode with him a couple of times.

• Shiki Ryougi by Kohaku - a great character with great gameplay mechanics.

• Bluestreak by Diepod and Jesuszilla - nice playstile, character design and voices. Plus that uniqueness felling since you don't see his gameplay in any other engine.

• Terry Bogard by Memo - though I'm not using the final version, I refer the one where he has some OP specials. I just find it fun to beat all bosses with EX Burn Knuckle...

Also for an entirely OP character I suggest the freaking crazy Spawn by DJ HANNIBALROYCE.

Recently I found out Rina has an infinite in the corner after sending the opponent to the ground from the air. I don't know coding so I can't remove it but the fact that I was able to beat Yuuka Kazami by Oga because of it is awesome. It was literally the only way for me to beat her with Rina because she fills the screen with projectiles, dodges a lot and has invincibility on her moves. She's extremely broken.
