Recently Firefox updated to 2.0.0.10.

I installed the update and restarted firefox as prompted, problem is; Now Firefox wont connect to the internet. Opera still does fine, which is how im posting, obviously. But my browser of choice is Firefox. I was wondering if there was any way to fix this. Here\'s a screencap:

Things Ive tried:

- Reinstalling Firefox.
- Checking every website I normally visit
- Checking my Internet connection type under Tools > Options

Im fresh out of ideas...any help?
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
And wisdom to know the difference.

Why? Torrents aren't illegal. I download episodes of my favorite shows regularly :)

Try executing "nslookup torrentspy.com" in your console. Then try "tracert torrentspy.com".

considering how creators rights are evolving now.. in a few years for those that buy the ea sports games, they will only work on that year, only on the console they were first used in, and you must have internet access to validate whatever.

You most likely have Proxy IP setting in your options turned on that has also happend with me and IE.

Heres what you do open firefox options

FIREFOX -> Options - Advanced -> Network Settings -> Options/Settings.

If its on a proxy select Direct Connection To The Internet.

EDIT: (didn't see he said it was fixed sorry)

Wow, that was totally called for.

And for some reason you thought the detail that you could access the page from other browsers wasn't important? That is an entirely different case and I would have posted different diagnostic measures for it in my post above. Don't complain about others inability to answer if you can't ask properly, Sir. :P

Good. ...not telling how you fixed it?

Learn to read then =D because you were in the same boat as the other guys that ignored my three things that I already did. The problem had nothing to do with the site because of what I outlined:

- Checking every website I normally visit

Thanks though.

You learn to read, "checking every website I normally visit" does in no way imply that you do it with different browsers than the one in question.

+1000

When I first read Downshift's post, I clearly understood that he checked all the usual sites with Firefox, and none of them opened, and as not all the sites could be closed at the same time, he concluded that Firefox had a problem...

No offence to Valodim or anything, but the first couple of posts were very unhelpful >_> and your post:

Seemed like you were trying to fix the problem with the site and not the browser. I could be wrong though, but w/e.

No actually I was trying to find out whether the problem was on dns or http level... which would of course have been unnecessary if we had had the hardly noteworthy piece of information that other browsers could see the page :rugoi:

  • Never give up
If you live in the USA, don't even bother going to that site.

Torrentspy.com said:
Sorry, but because you are located in the USA you cannot use the search features of the Torrentspy.com website.Torrentspy's decision to stop accepting US visitors was NOT compelled by any Court but rather an uncertain legal climate in the US regarding user privacy and an apparent tension between US and European Union privacy laws.
F**k Torrentspy.com!  >:(
