so my mean question is how do i start and from where (just to highlight that i dont want to use JUS style i want a style that looks more fit for fighting games). and if there is any good guides/tutorials that can help me make my own character/sprites?

You can either draw them your self, copy them off a sprite sheet, or render your own in blender 3d. I took the blender 3d approach since im already familiar with 3d modeling and animation.

In blender, I set up a camera from the side (flat) and pose the character into positon, render each frame set, save rendered pictures, and edit them in krita for smears and what not.  I found this to be the quickest method specially if you already have an established character. (preparing my vrchat avatar and my friends)

I'm still early into it on the mugen side so I have to do more learning on size and color index.

I have found a few good tutorials on youtube for mugen/ikemenGo, and the provided documentation within mugen starter pack does help quite a bit.
I'd share the links, but if the info is bad I dont want to steer you in the wrong direction as I too am learning. But definetly chk youtube as well.

You willl also need FighterFactory. Look up the mugen starter pack.

Welcome to the forums!!

Is akways nice having a potential spriter around :).

Most important thing is you already chose a style you don't want to follow. Next step is you to decide about the style you want to learn or do sprites in. My advice is, using existing sprite sheets, study that style.

Your tools for creating sprites could be MSPaint, Photoshop, GIMP, etc. I personally use MSPaint, cause I'm an old vintage guy.

Regarding the tutorials, well, it's about the style you want to follow.

In any case, these webshave some sprite sheets you could use to take notes from:

https://spritedatabase.net/
https://www.spriters-resource.com/

Just look for the game with the style you want to go for and study it. In the GRAPHIC SECTION you can publish your works and asking for help.

Good luck!!
I swear there was something cool here!!
