it seems simple to me, they just dont want someone they fired representing their company and accepting an award for a game they funded and published. they shouldve done an exception here because the backlash was visible from miles away

What if the whole problem Konami had with Kojima was using company resources and financing to make his name more relevant than the entire game or company, and actually going above and beyond in marketing expenses, and the only thing they told him is that he needed to cut back on his traveling, thus impeding him to attend the event?

well he doesn't work for the company anymore does he? so im not sure he would be using company money for a trip anyway. unless they release a statement saying otherwise I am liable to believe what is out there.
