I liked ash as an Anti-Hero, but as a supposed "Protagonist" he never really clicked with me. The game's narratives basically followed Kyo, Iori and/or Elizabeth, with Ash coming in after they beat all the bad guys to steal their powers. Even in 13 I'm pretty sure that's what happened. (without the power stealing).

That said I played as him cause they gave him Guile's Move set and I'll play as anyone who has that, whether they be an effeminate French Boy or an Emo French Boy.

Anti hero and protagonist are not mutually exclusive.  In fact it's the opposite, an anti hero is a KIND of protagonist.  One is directly a part of the other.

Yeah and you can be evil and still be the protagonist. Sorry,  what I meant was as a protagonist, the story is supposed to follow you.

The narrative of the games did not follow Ash. At least nowhere near they followed K' or Kyo. Ash kinda just popped in at the end of each game to do something and then left.

Seems the game has a lot of vs themes. Ralf vs Clark has the original theme from the first Ikari Warriors playing. Kyo vs Iori has New World Order. Kula vs Angel has Ice Place (Kula's KOF2000 theme).

It sucks because thoes vs themes only play for as long as the matchup is going on, so as soon as one of those characters gets KOed it stops playing and goes straight to the stage music.  What a waste man :/

What about a 1 VS 1 with rounds? Pretty much every KOF has that mode so I guess they get more use there (If anyone actually bothers to play it).

I used that mode in the PS1 games to avoid the loading screens... but that is not an issue anymore.

I normally play 1 vs 1 with rounds in KOF, should be under vs CPU mode in Versus Mode if I am not wrong  :mwhy:

Damn. they're all variations of the same first two attacks, with EX versions and super cancels thrown in here and there, but it's mostly just the basic > special > super > climax chain. Quite a change from XIII.

No more things like Ash SDM install combos into ridiculous charge partition loops, what a shame.
