ok I followed a different tutorial this time (this one http://mugenguild.com/forumx/index.php?topic=90321.0) I did every thing in there and MUGEN crashes when I try to test the transformation. But no error appears so I don't know how to fix this. Here is the code.[State 4000];Transformation
anim=ifelse(var(1)=1,14000,4000);The characters transformations aren't going to look identical, are they?

[State 4000];Varset
type=varset
trigger1=command="transform"
v=1
value=ifelse(var(1)=1,2,1)

[State 4000];Changestate
type=changestate
trigger1=animelem=7;it doesn't have to be five, that's just a placeholder
value=0;back to standing state

Cyanide

As it looks like you just copy pasted that.

Command = "transform"

is probably not defined in your .cmd. And what you have there isn't really going to do squat.

In M.U.G.E.N there is no magic button

They say a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, but it's not one half so bad as a lot of ignorance.

The Railgunner

Hey, someone finally used my transformation guide!

First of all, you need to make sure that:

*the "transform" command is defined in the CMD (thanks Cy)
*the anims 4000 and 14000 exist in your AIR file
*there aren't multiple states numbered 4000

Also like Cy said, that code alone won't do anything by itself - you need to go through the whole process for the transformation to actually work. Oh, and further discussion in the same topic reveals that this method has its flaws: it doesn't work with custom states (throws and the like).

Cyanide

No method reliably works with custom states. You can't detect what the custom anim you're in looks like.

Well, this is one of lots of things that many people are waiting Elecbyte add to the new Mugen.
Do you guys think they'll do it soon?
They've already released RC4 by now, and fixed lots of things, I just hope they will add this one soon.

Not anytime soon. They're first fixing everything. When they start adding new stuff like that one, it might even be for the completely redone version they're planning, the one not compatible with any of today's works.
If I struggled to the end of my determination, to the end of my way of life with my followers, if the result is ruin, then this ruin is inevitable. Grieve. Shed tears. But you cannot regret.

Oh my god, no!
I just hope they keep at least enough backwards compatibility so you just edit the char out to make it compatible!

Byakko

:gonk:
They said before that they would make the final 1.0 as good as it can be with full compatibility, and then move on to a completely new version NOT compatible, it will be a major revamp. This does seem to mean a simple edit will not be enough.

That was 2 years ago.

I think 2 years is plenty of time for a group of people to change their minds.

Oh, and this:

QuoteThe F.A.Q. that was previously on the site said that you planned to make one last version of M.U.G.E.N before making a new version that would not be backwards-compatible. Is that true?
    Unfortunately, the F.A.Q. was not worded very well. We have ideas about the direction we want to take with our projects, but nothing is set in stone. To address the concern, we can assure you that we'd never ask people to abandon the last ten years of work, regardless of what we work on next. We are interested in the community's input, which is why we've created these forums.
