Gouken

I am going to start trying to do Gouken, I cannot code but would love to do a full sprite sheet and see someone else code it (if they so choose) I have made a start but not very much, as of now I just need a few opinions on what is best so I cam make him as good as possible.

This is what I've got right now.




I have also done a few slight variations on the sleeve.

The sprite is pretty nicely done, it looks quite original and won't instantly appear as a head swap like some other gouken sprites, anyways good luck finding a coder

if you can try to eliminate the prayer beads...it's Akuma and Goutetsu's thing...Akuma killed Goutetsu and took them as a trophy of his victory.Gouken does not wear them

So he doesn't ^^ I never noticed he doesn't have prayer beads, well I've never played street fighter 4, I will do that at somepoint , another thing if I can request, is can anyone get me some sprites of the hadou characters from Street Fighter III 3rd Strike, so I can mix and match them to make Gouken's moves. Would be very much apreciated

Looks very good and quite original. Has a little mix of SFA in it aswell, maybe it's the shading *shrugs*. Keep us updated and good luck.

Here's some feed back to help you improve

~Gouken's Chest not shaded or sprited correctly
~He's not that muscular and his ribs muscle or whatever you call em looks like very strange
~He needs to be a little bit fatter
~His pants light source shading is off O.o

Ah and one more thing but its totaly up to you but it would save time for everybody is to make the final sprites with perfect axises. If you don't know what those are just take a look at those rips and you will see that all of the sprites are aligned properly and on the same plane so the big purple background is the same size as far as x/y.

I don't paticularly want him to be fatter, because I envisioned him fighting against the Capcom vs SNK2 cast who are alot better sized in my opinion, making Gouken the biggest and fattest character in the roster, as for his chest I wasn't too sure on it myself, abit awkward to sprite though, I can't get it right, it seemed fine with just one hand faced down, but when I put the other arm up I was like eh... I will try my best to sort that out, along with removing his beads, and the trousers will not stay like that, when animated they will flow so I am not worried ^^. Thanks for all the critism and I hope to make it as good as possible.

well, i've already done my own version of gouken, i helped with alexus's gouken, and i'd be happy to help code yours as well lol.  If you're interested, add me at disterbed619 for AIM or bloodriotiori@hotmail.com and we'll talk about it   That way i can get an idea of what type of gouken you're trying to make

i atarted two version of this look for gouken  already. however i am very impressed with this. i feel your pain cause i have only done the stance animated. so how far are you?> if you want some help or want to look at what i did so far i can send you my sf4 sff file that is priavate till it's about 20%

A beadless Gouken, I'm not too keen on this alteration, but I will be trying to perfect both standing sprites before moving on to the animations ^^

So which does everyone recommend? With the beads for the look, or without to stay true to the character? Whatever the reason what shall I pick to work on?

Lol looks like I got alot of work, this one is going to be soo hard to get it looking good, let alone the punchings and stuff, but oh well ^^
