If you want to go that way, considering you already have the variable that determines the timer value, you can use that instead. Make a constant type = powerset with the value var([X])*3000/[the max value of your timer variable]
QuoteLike setting the power up to be 3000 or whatever first
If he's making a custom combo groove, hopefully he's only  activating it once he has already reached the minimal power limit, and it will only have to decrease.
If I struggled to the end of my determination, to the end of my way of life with my followers, if the result is ruin, then this ruin is inevitable. Grieve. Shed tears. But you cannot regret.

Oh right, I get it now. Thanks guys  :)

Kinda strange but I woke up today and her hand was on my ass cheek
I won't suspect anything though I'll take it she was sleeping and didn't notice
you should have flipped over slowly

QuoteThe problem with that being if the opponent gives you power from a hitdef."

depends what type of custom combo he was going for, if alpha 2 style then it would end as soon as he is hit anyway.

EDIT: my point just seemed point-less lol......

Gah... It won't work. It just instantly decreases the power to 0 and if you use it again then it dosen't effect the power  :S

Here's my code:
Custom Combo:

[StateDef 710]
type = S
movetype= A
physics = S
juggle  = 1
velset = 0,0
ctrl = 0
anim = 710
sprpriority = 2

[State 0, Powerset]
type = Powerset
trigger1 = animelem = 1
value = var(40)

[State 0, Varset]
type = Varset
trigger1 = AnimElem = 1
v = 40
value = 3000

[State 0, SuperPause]
type = SuperPause
trigger1 = AnimElem = 1
time = 10
sound = S2,20
move
darken = 1
p2defmul = 0
poweradd = 0
unhittable = 1

[State 710, end]
type = ChangeState
trigger1 = AnimTime = 0
value = 0
ctrl = 1

Statedef -2:

[State -2, Varadd]
type = Varadd
trigger1 = var(40) > 1
v = 40
value = -10

Move the varset above the powerset.

trigger1 = animelem = 1
value = var(40)

[State 0, Varset]

trigger1 = AnimElem = 1
v = 40
value = 3000
Can you read that and explain what it does, in the order it does it ? Remember : Mugen reads from top to bottom, so when two state controllers have the same triggers (like here), FIRST it does what's on top, and THEN it does what's written after.

Move the varset above the powerset.
More like move the powerset to the statedef -2, and then  give it the trigger var(40) > 0. The power has to keep the right value as long as you are in custom combo mode.

Cobra Caddie

Ah, ya, that's right. I was just trying to fix the reset problem and didn't even consider that the powerset wasn't gonna do anything outside of the state.

Nnaajj

Thanks, it works now.
Finally I start coding custom combo stuff in the cmd  ;P

How can I cancel my custom combo when hit? All I need to know what trigger I should use.

Lol, it was that easy! Thanks.

edit:
Oh wait, How do I make it so it effects the variable? When the character gets hit then the variable decreases all the way to 0.

Um, you're asking questions you already know the answer to. Use a varset. Use your brain.

Nnaajj

I know it has something to do with a varset but, whats the trigger  ???
I'm trying to use my brain, kinda.

Don't kinda use it, use it. And now you're back to asking the same question that you got an answer to, 15 minutes ago.

Cause Byakko's answer wasn't the one I needed  :-\
I'm playing around with the varset and all I get is failure. If I knew the trigger I could get going.

You use the statedef -2; you use a varset that sets the variable for your custom combo variable to zero when your movetype is H. It's pretty simple.

It dosen't work, it just sets the power decrease to a halt. I can tell it dosen't work because the after image when you using the custom combo stays. The var(blah blah) has to be over 1 to make it stay.

Then you're not doing something right.

Im pretty sure you want something along the lines of const(data.power) somewhere in the code.
inb4 laxxe stfu and dont help people learn something that they would have to hunt down one line of code for in the docs (plus I never saw it in the docs)

nvm that just grabs whatever power you have at a constant rate and allows you to xfer it to a variable
