is there any way to add text in Mugen...like a couter or so? but not in the Debug mode (since there I can use diplay to...)

Nope, a sprite of a sentence of text is the best you can do.

You nessesarily need a sprite and animation asociated with it to do than on a character, but be happy, is better, because you can add some new fancy effects to that text if you do so.

yeah, you would have to sprite the text though.
