last good DOA IMO was Hardcore, then it just became blah with the "Make boobs the core feature of the game" look of the game

i dont mind tig ol bitties, but DOA is more TITS>GAMEPLAY to me. there are hell of better Fighters out there, DOA is like bottom of the barrel IMO

If you play DoA and notice nothing but tits than, Itagaki be damned, thats more your problem than the games. Gameplay is as deep as any of the greats.

There are way worse fighters than DoA out there (like, say, any 3D Mortal Kombat for starters, theres your bottom of the barrel).

You can have some good laughs playing MK vs DC with your friends casually, game looks stiff as hell but laughable at same time, you get fun factor in some way.

Can't say the same about DOA4, win factor lies on cheap counters, there's no pressure when fighting at all, hit counter+backward for 30%+ instant damage and characters 3D models looks like barbie dolls, the backgrounds and their interactive actions is kinda cool but that's not enough to lure our attention when we have games like Tekken 6, SSFIV and Blazblue waiting for us to play them.

Still, Im hoping for something that does look good and provide us fun on the next title, same kind of hope I have for the new upcomming Mortal Kombat.

Besides, counters haven't been cheap since DOA 4 (There's a new mid counter, the recovery time is slower), then again you generic HURR trash talkers wouldn't know that. Believe it or not some people (Yeah sure, 20% maybe) play this because once you learn the mechanics it's fun and rewarding, they don't really care about tits.
Also Itagaki quit Tecmo, this will be the first Itagaki-less DOA.

Bushido Blade is good for some laughs. MK vs DC? We returned that rubbish after 20 minutes of play.


As far as I've ever been able to tell the only thing that has kept DoA under was its overall art direction. Never mind the breast physics, I don't even notice it outside of character selects. The whole anime+barbie thing was done in a time where graphics needed to cut corners.
