Is there a way to fight the computer with out going into arcade mode and being able to pick the character you fight?

Through watch mode.

Pick the characters you want, then hold ctrl and press 1 to be player one, or 2 to be player 2.

Ya I know it's a pain the ass that they just don't have a vs cpu options for vs.

You have to be in game and debugkeys have to be enabled.

Doesn't matter what screenpack you have. Open up your mugen.cfg file that is in your data folder(use notepad to open it). Either go down and change:

Debug = 0
to
Debug = 1

or change

AllowDebugKeys = 0
to
AllowDebugKeys = 1
