QuoteAlong with the previously announced Star Gladiator and Cyberbots, Capcom will also be releasing Vampire Savior EX Edition on the Japanese only Games Archive over the Playstation Network. There is a small chance that titles like this one, known as Darkstalkers 3, could be released locally. We will let you know if there are any updates to this story.

Wait, star gladiator is there? I guess i could try it out... darkstalkers 3, while being a great game , should have had vampire chronicles released instead.

GOH

Yep, Star Gladiator and Cyberbots were both confirmed before, I forget to post the topic.

Too bad Vsav's psx port is a terrible one

Iced

Its vampire savior Ex, it doesnt need to have any of the frame removals. AND it has all the characters, all of them.

"Bad News" Hoffmann

Better than nothing but why cant they port the ps2 Darkstalkers collection game or the DC Vampire Chronicles to xbl/psn as an arcade title?

Please note that while the original arcade vsav has infinites, most of the ones shown in this video are much more practical. Bulleta has an infinite but only Sako can do it so it's not a problem. Likewise, Jedah has an infinite but it only works on big characters like Anakaris, Victor, Bishamon, and Jedah standing. It also requires strict execution to keep it going. Most of the combos in this video can be landed on pretty much everyone except crouching Qbee. Coupled with the fact that some combos are done on Anakaris, who does not have a regular guard cancel/tech hit like everyone else so he is much more subsceptible to these infinites.

Yeah seriously. Fuck PSX Darkstalkers 3.

Yeah, it's a stupid idea how they're using the PSX port of Darkstalkers 3/Vampire Savior. PSX Arcade fighters always were doomed to fail. It was always the 2D fighters too :/

But meh, it still is better then nothing. If I remember correctly, you could of download that Darkstalkers compilation game for the PSP at the PSN store for a low price.

Koldskool

That's true, but that requires owning a PSP.

i recommend everyone to download the ps2 darkstalkers collection illegally which was only released in japan. its sure avaiable on the most game torrent sites etc. Sure it can be bought via ebay or play asia maybe but its totally overpriced.

The Vampire Chronicles for PS2 has lots of extra stuff and all three games as arcade ports.

Whomever's really interested in ever seeing something resembling a proper DS sequel should adquire whatever's out there legally available in the proper way - how is is Capcom supposed to gauge interest for a new product if people just pirate the existing legitimate products of the franchise?...
SSF2THD to SF4, etc...

Well..did they even release the Darkstalkers Chronicles for the Dreamcast...for the Sega Saturn even or the PS2 Collection in the west?

No,.... so screw them.

Beside that i have the originals for ps1 and ps2..but buying darkstalkers now again via psn..and the worst version ever released? lol no.

Thedge

No, screw you.
Stop encouraging people to download games illegally, seriously.

You're pulling examples from a decade ago, when the decision-makig regarding what got distributed where as probably in very different hand?.. really...

If you already have the original versions of th game, fine, nobody's forcing you to buy them again, but encouraging others to basically steal is a low blow to the business, especially if it's concerning a franchise you claim to care about enough to loathe a specific console port.

Capcom would lose money if someone decides for himself that it is better to download a superiour PS2 /Dreamcast version of a 5/10 year old game which is totally overpriced in used form on ebay or amazon than to buy the worst version ever released of the game via PSN?

You might call it encouraging piracy.. i call it teaching a company that they should care a tiny bit more for their fans and port the superiour versions.

I would never encourage someone to download any new games ..but games which cant be bought  as new versions since many years and werent even released outside of japan?

That's fine and dandy if you have a fucking modded PS2. You can't emulate it. It doesn't matter how much of a beast your PC is, it's gonna run at 7FPS.

I want some decent online play and more love for Savior and pirating the PS2 version or just dealing with the PSP just isn't gonna do that. Preferably they go by what Chronicle did so I can use NW and DS versions of characters within the VS engine. That was the best part about Chronicle, and Darkstalkers Collection didn't do that.
