Dunno if its a good idea..but the guess the game /screenshot was well appreciated ..and maybe this quiz idea can be fun for a while too

Rules: Simple, someone (me) starts with a question about something in a fighting game... the game should have been released tough ..no future games please. The guy who guessed it right continues with the next quiz.. as in the guess the game thread it makes sense for the guessers to wait till the current "quiz moderator" confirmed the right answer. The questions can be easy..they can be uber hard.. the best questions are those which arent easily answered via google.. but its sure difficult to know something, the net doesnt yet.. so easy questions are totally okay

I start with the first question

What was the first fighting game with a bear as a playable character?

drewski90

i believe it's either tekken 3 or battle-k road!

Silentfailwhale

"What do you want?"
"My face on the one dollar bill"
The Joker in Batman (1989)

it was so obvious someone would say tekken...but no..it was a fighting game released before tekken. ( Kuma was in Tekken 1 already btw)

Silentfailwhale

Ranma 1/2 for the SNES?

Genma is a panda, but a panda is a kind of a bear, so...
Princess Adora: "My friend saw She-Ra take her dress off in the shower. She said she has an 8 pack. She said She-Ra is shredded."

SF2NES is dead. Long live SF2NES.

... we have a winner

Ranma 1/2: Chougi Ranbu Hen (1994) was the game with the first playable bear (yes a panda)

you have the honor now :)

Bea

Okay, since I am pretty uninspired tonight, here goes an extremely easy one:

What was the first fighting game to have fighters that wield weapons?
Princess Adora: "My friend saw She-Ra take her dress off in the shower. She said she has an 8 pack. She said She-Ra is shredded."

SF2NES is dead. Long live SF2NES.

samurai showdown?

edit: soulblade?
"What do you want?"
"My face on the one dollar bill"
The Joker in Batman (1989)

Bea

#11
Nope.
It's none of those. The game came out many, many years before those.
Princess Adora: "My friend saw She-Ra take her dress off in the shower. She said she has an 8 pack. She said She-Ra is shredded."

SF2NES is dead. Long live SF2NES.

Luis Alejandro

warrior

Bea

Battle Arena Toshinden was released after Samurai Showdown.

And no, it wasn't warrior.
Princess Adora: "My friend saw She-Ra take her dress off in the shower. She said she has an 8 pack. She said She-Ra is shredded."

SF2NES is dead. Long live SF2NES.

OZ

Bea

Nope! :P

Another hint: It had two female fighters, and they're likely the VERY first female fighters to appear in a fighting game.
