Because calling your works PotS-style is

1) A really bad way of riding PotS' coattails
2) Suggests that you're not comfortable with your own creation abilities.
3) Basically becomes a cop-out argument if you're freestyling and things go wrong.

Basically I'm more against the implications of labelling it PotS-style vs the character itself. For example, I love Jmorphman's Chun-Li.

Well POTS worked hard to get where he was, so it does smack of arrogance to compare yourself to him.  Even though he did innovate a specific style, it's probably safer just to call it custom CVS because that's more or less accurate to what he does and everyone who does something similar puts their own spin on it anyway.

Not really.  Everyone in CFJ is just copy pasted from their source games.  Now if you were talking about Shin Akuma then you would have a point, but that's still not very similar to what POTS does/did.
