I never thought I'd have to ask this, but I don't know what else to do. I'm having some serious issues aligning this one set of sprites. I'll go tick by tick in-game to get each sprite in the right spot, but something is still always off.

Anyone know some other ways to align sprites?

Hero

Mmm.... what method are you using right now to rip sprites?

Алексей

What I normally do is this: After ripping the sprites, they will all be aligned because you ripped them that way. When adding them to M.U.G.E.N (assuming you use Fighter Factory), make sure that "Auto Crop" is unchecked. If this is checked, it will crop the images before aligning them, therefore destroying your custom alignment. After adding the images to Fighter Factory, you can manually crop them using the "Crop" or "Cut" tool. Hope that helps.

Well the sprites I ripped turned out fine. But these sprites, I separated individually from a sprite sheet. So I gotta go off my own judgement.

Use onionskin. View the previous sprite and align the current one to it. Normally aligning by the foot that stays in place will give the right effect. Jumping sprites are aligned by the waist and don't normally change that.

About the only "awkward" one is a stepping attack. For these the midpoint should become the back foot on the axis, and you use posadd to fix up position during the move.

In M.U.G.E.N there is no magic button

They say a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, but it's not one half so bad as a lot of ignorance.
