can someone explain to me remappal sctrl in less technical terms?
i dont know what group and item of source and destination refer to?
for example i want to change from 1.act to 2.act, how do i use this sctrl?

and also any palette from a group of palettes (1,2,3,4.act) to another palette from another group (5,6,7,8.act)?

You can't understand that description? o_O

In sffv2, palettes have groups, just like the sprites of the .sff.

Your character's palettes are in group 1 and each individual palette should have its own index/item number: 1, 1; 1, 2; 1, 3; etc.

The source parameter takes all sprites that are drawn with the palette of the group and item number specified and changes them to the palette of the group and item number specified in the destination parameter.

If you want to change from act 1 to act 2, your code should look like this:

source = 1, 1
dest = 1, 2

so i use this sctrl based on sprite groups and not on the per anim of the states?

Cyanide

No you use it based on palette number.

act1 = 1,1
act2 = 1,2
act3 = 1,3
and so on.

ok. thanks

so i want to use this 2.act when transformed

transformation
Spoiler (click to show)
;---------------------------------------------------------------------------
; tranformation (change palette)
[Statedef 300]
type    = S
movetype= A
physics = S
juggle  = 5
poweradd= 65
ctrl = 0
velset = 0,0
anim = 300

[State 0, SuperPause]
type = SuperPause
trigger1 = time = 0
time = 145
anim = -1
;sound =
;pos =
movetime = 145
darken = 1
p2defmul = 0
poweradd = 0
unhittable = 1
;endcmdbuftime = (winmugen only)
;pausebg =  (winmugen only)
;ignorehitpause =
;persistent =

; var for transformation
[State 0, VarSet]
type = VarSet
trigger1 = animelem = 22
v = 0
value = 1
;ignorehitpause =
;persistent =

[State 300, 5]
type = ChangeState
trigger1 = AnimTime = 0
value = 0
ctrl = 1

and this is for changing the palette and doubling attack and defense power when transformed
Spoiler (click to show)
[Statedef -2]

; change palette after transforming
[State 0, RemapPal]
type = RemapPal
trigger1 = var(0) = 1
source = 1,1
dest = 1,2

; double attack power when transformed
[State 0, AttackMulSet]
type = AttackMulSet
trigger1 = var(0)=1
time = -1
value = 2
;ignorehitpause =
;persistent =

; double defense power when transformed
[State 0, DefenceMulSet]
type = DefenceMulSet
trigger1 = var(0)=1
time = -1
value = 2
;ignorehitpause =
;persistent =

when i load the char in FF Classic (mugen 1.0), the p2 of my char uses the 2nd palette at the start of the match. how can i make my char always use 1.act when starting a fight and 2.act is only usable when and after transforming

i know the trigger is var(0)!=1 but what sctrl do i use to make it happen?

Cyanide

Making it unusable EXCEPT when you wish is an sffv2 feature. Otherwise if it's sffv1, in order to get at it it must be selectable as a palette.

Unless you were to edit state 5900 and exclude the palette from selection altogether there.
