Looks like you can only create human/saiyans since it's the only thing they showed in the video (aside from the Saibaman, Ginyu and the most likely unplayable Baby). Kinda disappointing since I always liked the diversity of alien races in Dragon Ball and wanted them to gain more importance.

I agree, this looks pretty nice.  I'm still gonna have to wait to see what the fighting system is like before I buy another DBZ game(last one I got was Budoukai 1)

Buy Budokai 3 or Infinite World. Those are easily some of the best anime fighters ever made, and have plenty of single player content, well, Budokai 3 does.

All of those 'original' characters look exactly like Goku, except for the blonde Trunks.

Budokai 3, most definitely. It's pretty much the pinnacle of the standard "2D" Budokai fighter and is much better refined than Budokai 1.

Tenkaichi 2/3 is also worth a shot, and if this game takes after these I'll add it to my "buy when not poor" list.

This character creation thing does look interesting but I have not yet seen beings of a female persuasion up in this piece. I do not approve of that.

given that in that character creation they reproduced the two sayan character(out of 3)  from dragonball heroes. I would expect them to also include the female counterparts, frieza clan counterparts and boo counterparts.
There is no reason for them not to include namekians since they would require nothing new except a skin, while boos and friezas require a bit more of different modelling.

Ultimate tenkaichi seems to be getting some art direction from there.

Well, if we can completely customize the specials and have alot of customization options for the look of the character, this'll be a day one purchase for me....

Hopefully we can have Female Saiyans, as I feel they were horribly misused throughtout the whole series(including GT) and were barely, if ever, seen even in the flashbacks....

So to make up for that, I'll dominate everyone with  F.Saiyan

At first, I couldn't tell what the hell was happening, but after watching it a bit longer....
I actually like how the battle system works...
It definitely fits the DBZ mold that the fights in the series go, and you actually have the options(which you seemingly have to earn) to deal with Ultimate Techniques that your opponent throws at you.

I'll have to see where this is still going though.

Not feeling the system here.  I rather endure endless spamming of ki moves than trying to beat my opponent on very slow conditions in battle.

I dunno, it just takes the skill away when you need lucky guesses to easily counter moves and chain away in certain situations.  At least in Raging Blast 2 there were some challenging opponents that are versatile in strategy, not to mention fast paced.  That's just me.

Still gonna pick this up but not gonna enjoy online in these settings.
