No we understand that part but once we install it and put in the softwar disk the screen turns blank on us till we switch back to the older Graphics card.

No same ports, the old one's an ADI Radion (or something like that) and the new one's a Nvidia Zotac GeForce GT 250, question though as i am unsure about this

The Power supply a Graphics Card says it need, can it be that exactly (if it needs 300 can my power supply be 300) or does it have to be over?

Yes, it  has to be over. You require more for your motherboard, drives, and such.
