[Theme Thread] CVS Sprite thread

There's going to be an incoming shitstorm probably, but if you think it's bad you should list what details you don't like about it. (I would go much more indepth in what's wrong with it because I can pinpoint what I'm just lazy myself.)

Matthew, why must you insist on shitting on everyone's sprites? 

First it was me, then Chatmat and now Newboyflow.

I don't shit on you guys. I just feel that you guys could do a lot better than what you are producing right now. Newboyflow has some good sketching and coloring skills on the paper. His sprites could be better if he actually takes his time and focus on what makes CvS sprites look CvS style. Chatman is a decent spriter. He just needs to stop trying to sprite as fast as possible and take his time to give his sprites CvS characteristics rather than just abusing 2 tone aa. You Karasai, it just doesn't really look like you are putting in an honest effort after seeing you post all those weird looking unfinished sprites that weren't even close to CvS proportions. I am a terrible spriter but I try my best to put a decent looking sprite. I just think you guys should do the same. You guys aren't bad, you just need to stop posting unfinished sprites.

but it will never be "finished" unless people give REAL critics to the sprite, all you did was just said was how bad the sprite was instead of saying where exactly does it need to be fixed.

I went through 4 of his 6 pages of posting history, and that's just his gimmick.

"You think that's CVS? It's not even close"
"Wow, that sprite is decent but I found that 3 pixels aren't antialiased correctly, therefore you suck"

The 2 or 3 sprites he's posted are "decent", but he scolds people as if he shat gold.
He's just one negative Nancy.

Not to mention, he deems them as unfinished because he doesn't like them.

He assumes people know 100% what they're doing, when they're clearly here to get feedback and try to improve their skills ...  but he rarely gives any feedback, he just says things are bad and shit left and right.

Also, he assumes people aren't making an effort, and they're purposefully halfassing everything just to troll everybody, and he feels it's his duty to call them on it.

Matt. Please don't put up negative posts here. All of us are not perfect in spriting CVS style. You said you're terrible in spriting CVS style. I like CVS style but I'm terrible in doing that style. I mostly suck on shading and the light source. I always don't know where to put up shades and I get lost. I understand where the light source should be. From above. I'm not really good in making CVS colors though. I use my own colors. Look. A lot of us have different ways of spriting especially in here.

Remember. Be careful on what you post, or else, something will go wrong. My advice is give respect to others but don't be too personal and too critical. I learned my lesson not being too critical on Sean Altly's Axel sprite and C.R.O.M. Lando's Adam Blade. I thought I was being honest just like other critics from this site here. First, I was being too critique on Lando's Adam Blade from Needless in IMT. He explained to me that the test sprite thread of ABR is for improving sprites. I might be wrong of what I said 'cause I forgot. I'll check on my post on the test thread. Second, same thing to Sean Altly 'cause I forgot till I remember that I apologized to Lando. I know he felt bad of what I made a negative comment, but not harsh.

I learned my lesson. Don't be too much of something especially being too critical or personal.

He already said why, but he doesn't really justify it considering most sprites here are WIP in which people are trying to improve.

Matthew I want you to stop telling people to post unfinished sprites. This thread isn't just for complete CVS sprites, it's for people to improve them. So if you want to criticize someone's work, atleast point out where the sprite needs work, don't just come in here and say it's "beat and all around bad" and leave. We don't need posts like that.

I'm learning how to do CvS spriting myself and really Matt? It's not about being perfect here. It's about improving your skills so your sprites look better and you get a better idea of how the style itself is done. Quit being a turd Matt.

Matt, for making it shorter: CONSTRUCTIVE critiques are welcome. And your comments seems to be like from someone superior, if people here SHARES their art it's because 2 main reasons:

1- They're(we're) learning) and so they/we need constructive comments.
2- They just want to show their sprites, finished or not.

In your way you'll find bad and good comments, just try to differenciate those which you feel constructive to your style.
