stop sprpriority from changing automatically?

So I've coded a move with a helper. The parent's priority is 3, the helper is 2. When ever the parent connects the helper jumps in front of the parent.
I need this to stop. What do I use and where? I imagine it's something to do with an ignorehitpause or something? I think this because once the hitpause stops the priorities go back to the ways I set them. Any ideas?

Are you setting it manually? An ignorehitpause = 1 will solve that. Hitdefs also take p1sprpriority, and the default value is probably overriding your hit.

In M.U.G.E.N there is no magic button

They say a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, but it's not one half so bad as a lot of ignorance.

Thanks,
I added p1sprpriority to both the helper's hitdef and Samus' move and it works.
