My logic for changing it is that this character is based on CVS2, and in CVS2 several SNK commands were changed for the sake of consistency.  For example, throws that were half circles became 360s.

Snakebyte

Ah, fair enough. I have little-to-no experience with the source game, and wasn't even thinking about it. Apologies.

Except that never happened. CvS2 was special in the sense that it kept commands intact for everyone.

The only exceptions were characters with command basics who had them distributed to the 6 button layout to make up for missing basics. (Iori Yagami, Kyo).

In fact, the commands were so true to the original that even Terry's special command for Power Geyser was kept intact.

Yamazaki's command grab super (which IIRC is a single 360 in Real Bout and a double HCB in KOF) became a 720 motion.

ALSO Raiden and Chang had several commands changed to fit the Capcom layout, as well as Ryo had one of his DP motions reversed.

I got one command wrong, that does not invalidate the rest of my post.  If they don't want to change the command that's fine, I'm just giving reasons why I think it should be.

I'm afraid I don't really get what you're trying to say.  :S

walt

Sorry, I hadn't noticed the post you edited where you added more examples.

In any case, I'm not that invested in the CVS games to provide further insight other than SNK characters got nerfed beyond the commands ::)

senorfro

Nice release for all the hard work.  Target combos seem real strict, but maybe I just need practice.

Oh, and Jack/Vans, The Drill was 360 in CvS1

Got damnit, is it that hard to put the files with the character's name on it, put in the files, then zip it? I really hate when people do that. It makes me think that they are lazy... Any ways,

Idle animation:

I can say this for Mel and Rock as well, BC should have minor idle animation details added for randomizing. Having his mouth open/close or what ever he is doing over and over again makes him look weird. Maybe have him do a tick glitch that shows his other side from time to time.

Walking animation:

At first I didnt get his persona on the way he walked but then it made since. Its suppose to show more of an attitude by moving (swinging) his arms a bit over his thighs but the lighting is confusing me because he doesnt get any lighting on his chest. I would think he would get some kind of light source unless he was slouched more over. And hey, you are too good of an animator to reuse the same walking animation in reverse for backwards :D

Standing MP:

Did you intentionally make him kinda look bigger on this sprite to show some power or hint of his other self?

Standing SP:

Only issue I have here is the flow of the backside of the hoody. Doesn't seem to move right IMO.

Standing HK:

It might just be me, but his attacking leg looks a bit longer.

Crouching:

"HIS" right leg doesnt match from the stand to crouch. and the sprite over all I am taking is just isn't complete im sure. But even that sprite can really use some work. Its a big downgrade from his standing. There are some antialiasing on his close that makes the sprite really look bad.

Dash back:

I dont thing he should be jumping that high. Maybe lower it a few pixels ingame and it should look better. its more of a slide to me than a hop back.

Jumping back:

Dont know if its only ment for the the jump back animation only because I dont see it in the other jumps.  I know you are still working on it but whats your plan for that? I believe that it would look good for when you are falling from a jump and holding up to make him glide down a little rather then it just popping up and he is falling like a rock.

There are some things here and there that can use some extra tender love and care but I know you'll get to it. Nice work over all. Just IMO i really hate that CVS bar and its sound that comes with it. its annoying :D keep up the good work bro.

Laharl

you know you can disable the cvs bar and announcer right? in the config file.

You'll fix chuchoryu ? Sounds like a plan. How about you code him from scratch instead ?

In order:

That's what the extract button is for.

It's a CvS character, most of them don't have that much going on. He isn't so unstable that he'd tick like that. He was supposed to have Cable's random spark at one point. You shouldn't just be standing there so I left that out.

He isn't lit from the front. Apparently I'm not that good an animator.

Yes.

Hmmm...

Same deal as the MP.

It's probably because it's one of the oldest sprites.

Ummm...

I wanted it to look like that. Also, what Laharl said.
Spriting is hard.

I like the jumping back animation, I love how his hoodie turns into "bat wings"

Oh sorry, guess I'm the only person that in visions animations when seeing text so let me water it down.

Zipped file>>extracted it>>10000000000000000 palettes and BS's files flop all out in my mugen's character folder. Meaning when and who made the file didnt put the files in a folder, say cvsbluestreak/folder and toss everything in there before zipping it. get it?

Neocide

how hard is it to just make a folder yourself? The time it took you to complain about it you could've put them all in one folder.

Also, if you use winrar and extract the files, they come in a folder anyway.

F. James Fernandez

Umm maybe because I don't want to? Sorry, guess I am just too use to Rajaa's and Cybasters neatness on files/folders.

Something tells me I'm one of those "3 people" mentioned in the Readme for whining about Diepod's refusal to include the Z2 back-breaker state in Bluestreak. In which case, I'd like to apologise for it. I had no right to act so childish about it and should have respected Diepod's desicion from the start. It was his character, after all.  :(
It's best if everyone just ignored that inane, childish section, and focus on the character, because he's awesome and that's all that matters.

The command for the Electrocutioner follow-up may want some looking at as well. Not only is a half-circle motion real awkward to pull off after a quarter-circle motion for me, I'm always scared of messing up the timing and accidentally using Shadow Kick instead of Electrocutioner.
It's not really that awkward to pull off, IMO, and it's pretty close to one of Kyo's rekka chains (qcf, hcb) so it's not really a big deal.

Huh? Kyo? But none of Kyo's normals are based on his command moves. He has all 3 of his KOF command moves as command moves, and even gained another one.

I can almost guarantee that those files in the zip came from a folder named "cvsbluestreak". It actually takes the exact same amount of effort to zip a folder as it does a bunch of files in a folder, and all you have to do is use the "extract to" option to make a folder while extracting anyway.

but folders in zips is better :V

MellyInChains

i feel a bit bad that i'm now interested in checking this out now that i can easily remove all the CVS components. guess i just hate bars cluttering up the screen. i did always think this guy was a neato design

also solution to the not-at-all-issue of the zip thing: open archive and see what's in there. it really doesn't matter man (i too have been yelled at for the same thing lol)
