Looks more like a death scene out of Dead Space than Tomb Raider. Whenever I think of Tomb Raider, I think of tigers mauling Lara because that's the farthest I ever got.

funny thing is a 16-bit fighting game (eternal champions) is so much more graphic than both of those that most video game deaths i'm sort of desensitized towards

watching one pulled off during a match with a friend felt like watching a snuff film

Why do you judge something like that when you never played the games

To be fair, throughout the entire tomb raider series, you can also get Laura ragdoll'd to death by a giant crawling torso, make her break her own neck by diving off a high place, turn her into gold, plunge her into lava, get her immolated, get Laura impaled in many ways, get her eaten by a T-Rex, allow her to be shanked, let her stupidly run into swinging blades, and many other unpleasant things. The main difference is there was hardly any blood to them to let the games get by with a T-rating unlike what this gritty reboot is trying to accomplish.

Because that death scene looks like it would fit in Resident Evil better than Tomb Raider? And it's weird they're going in that direction?

I know there are death sequences in Tomb Raider, and that some were pretty brutal, but I also knew they weren't anywhere near as graphic. So yeah.

It just makes me think of the people who looked at Samurai Shodown V Special and acted like only now the series let you violently kill your opponent.
