Hi there, I'm using DJ-VAN's EvE screen pack which (I believe) uses Winmugen. This is the old, old 2006 one. Says version .76. I have tried upgrading to 1.0 for more support for newer characters but it never seems to work. Could anybody give me a step by step guide to upgrading while staying hi res? If at all possible I would like to keep the loading screen that the original EvE has at the startup (http://i.imgur.com/XWlpoNM.png) as well as the intro (e1intro.sff). Also once upgraded is it simple as transferring my select.def, character files, and stages over to their respective folders or will I need to rewrite select.def one line by one? Thank you for reading.

I don't know if this may help:
Look Here

I actually used this and figured it out myself. All I need help with now is changing the 1.0 sounds back to DJ-VAN's. I don't like the "FIGHT" clip that plays when a match starts, I much preferred the "Welcome back to the stage of heroes...fight!" one. Is there any way I could switch it back?

Try copying "fight.snd" file in your old EVE Screenpack and paste it to your new Mugen, make sure you create a copy/back-up of your new fight.snd file just in case if something goes wrong.

I like that sound too to be honest.

Mattzoso

That actually made the health bars disappear for some reason.

Does the lifebar goes back to normal if you restore the previous fight.snd?

Try pasting the .snd into "mugen1" folder and see if that works.

Mattzoso

I pasted it in both the data and mugen1 folder at once to no avail. I have no idea. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That's strange mine doesn't go like that when I tried pasting new .snd in my data.

Mattzoso

It didn't change the sound either. which baffles me. I mean anyone is welcome to do teamviewer but I just dunno.

Let's try another method.

- Try renaming fight.snd to any name you want e.g.: Eve.snd
- Open fight.def and look for this line:

[Files]
sff = fight.sff
snd = VP_fight.snd <--------------- Try changing this to Eve.snd
font1 = enter48.def
font2 = num48.def
font3 = name14.def
font4 = num1.def
fightfx.sff = fightfx.sff
fightfx.air = fightfx.air
common.snd = common.snd

- DO IT in both "data" and "mugen1" folder.

Mattzoso

There we go. Should I copy the fight.def from my old Mugen there too?

No, because if you do that the sound goes back to fight.snd.

But you can do that, and try that method I just post. But then again back everything up before you do it.

Mattzoso

I could change the name of the file. I don't know what I did but when I changed it back it worked too. Maybe the .snd file was being dumb or I screwed up.

Did it solved your problem?

Mattzoso

I believe so. But what I'm wondering now is if I want to transfer the .def now too or if the new .def is fine how it is.

mAdLaX

I don't think that will work, because the EVE your using in WinMugen is for WinMugen version only and has different codings than 1.0.
