Sadly I didn't really dedicate all my time into watching EVO(mainly was more interested in the DOA side tourney then tuned out at Sunday for the Battleground PvP).

Into the little I did watch there was plenty of hype moments to be had(Woshige, SonicFox dominating, and seeing the KI match with Kan-Ra and Sabrewulf at the top of my head) but damn, hearing Gamerbee lose over a controller malfunction at the Grand Finals is heartbreaking...

I know it killed the momentum, but saying he lost because of that is a stretch...

I thought every shot on stream of the halls looked packed because, FUCK IT 9000 entries total for all tournaments.
LVH was bigger, yeah, but had a terrible location.
Nope, when I got to the finals hall on Sunday I was shocked the hall was awfully small (Compared to last years), tons of empty seats too (I saw literally ALL the Smash players with their orange badge leaving the event after Melee finals)

LVH was super off the strip, so I agree wholeheartedly.

Next year we should make a list of all the fellow Guilders attending evo. In 2014 I think Iced went and I totally missed him.

Niitris

I'm gonna attend one of these years, but gotta get my money up first.

There are also some side-tournament results if you want to update further.  And thanks for forming this thread.

Wasn't going to at first but if it saves a trip to Eventhubs, yuck.

Done.

Kirishima

You are doing Kami-Sama's work.

It's more  bad for Momochi actually where a free round had to be given.  If you looked at his expression when that occured, it felt like he was going to flip.  Even after he won, he looked as if he wasnt satisfied at all.  If he lost, I bet no one will get very emotional because of how hard Gamerbee pulled off in Top 8.  Doesn't change Razer being in heat either way.

To be honest, for me, it's very hard to forget that this ever happened.  When I want to look back at Grand Finals, I'm going to recall the Stick Scam of '15.

Approximately what time before the first finals did you got there?  Usually I tend to arrive at the earliest to reserve seats for events like these.

Renzo F

You can always get to the pit (next to the main stage) by taking advantage of the chaos created by the time between finals.

S.D.

I got there REALLY late because I was getting lunch with my crew and we went to sleep extremely late on Saturday, we got there when Frutsy and Rayray were playing, so Marvel was almost over, and we still found plenty of open seats.

Usually we just wake up in time to watch whatever is the first top 8, it's super easy to find seats since most players don't wake up that early.

Well I didn't watch the Top 8 of Street Fighter 4 because that's when the PPV started so I have no idea if he got DQ'd or whatever.

Well I can see Momochi being pissed off too considering what happened.

He didn't. After the.. Stick thing happened and a free round was given, the match continues as it is. It's still kind of bullshit though after the stick was malfunctioning, but accidents happen.

Though tbh, if that stick didn't break, Momochi would've won either way. He was doing pretty well.

I still could not forget Infiltration vs Gamerbee though, since that match was also long af, even without a stick/controller breaking.

Ha! I'm even surprised I got 5th place in Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax.

Even with the DQ, but congrats!
I got taken out super early, I should've entered UNIEL and other games but this year was super hectic for me.

MooMaster

When I heard about the DQ, I was happy that I got in top 8, but disappointed I wasn't able to fight for the spot to see if I truly earned the right to be in top 8, but it is what it is. I was also able to hold my own against a couple Japanese players, so that made me happy.

Also, thank you.

See? That's where I failed in like.. all the tournaments I entered, I got eliminated (or sent to losers, sometimes both) by Japan. But that's that's fine with me, only you can get that kind of competition at EVO and it's awesome to finally be able to play such niche games offline against other people. DFC's netcode is just... ugh.

I know the feeling, you go there to compete and play people from all over the world so DQs don't feel right.

Kamekaze

i wish my matches in the anime suite were recorded where I got a P on a jp player in uniel. I hella popped off because people were doubting me the whole time. I went 2-2 in uniel in the tournament itself

MooMaster's real highlight match is right here though.
