Ok first off here's the code:

[State 200, 2];r–ì
type = Explod
trigger1 = animelemtime(15) = 308
trigger1 = enemy,name != "Robo Ambush"
trigger1 = enemy,name != "ROBO-Ky"
anim = 4102
id = 4100
pos = 153, 136
Postype = left
facing = 1
sprpriority = 9999
ownpal = 1
ontop = 1
removetime = 620
pausemovetime = 99999
supermovetime = 99999
supermove = 1
bindtime = -1
persistent = 0
ignorehitpause = 1
scale = 0.5,0.5

[State 200, 2];r–ì
type = Explod
trigger1 = animelemtime(15) = 308
trigger1 = enemy,name = "Robo Ambush"
trigger1 = enemy,name = "ROBO-Ky"
anim = 4192
id = 4100
pos = 153, 136
Postype = left
facing = 1
sprpriority = 9999
ownpal = 1
ontop = 1
removetime = 620
pausemovetime = 99999
supermovetime = 99999
supermove = 1
bindtime = -1
persistent = 0
ignorehitpause = 1
scale = 0.5,0.5

Ok these explods replace the entire screen with a totally different scene. The characters, lifebars, etc. are completely covered up.

So the first explod should only show up if the enemy you're fighting is not Robo-Ky or Robo Ambush. And the second explod should only show up if your enemy is either Robo-Ky or Robo Ambush. The first one shows up fine as it should when not fighting Robo-Ky or Robo Ambush, but the second explod doesn't show up at all. It's just a black screen and it doesn't cover up the characters which is telling me it's not registering properly. The animation code for it is in the AIR file as it should be, the SFF contains the art properly, and everything seems to be in order. I've checked and rechecked a million times. The weirdest thing is if I set the first explod to use the animation called on by the second explod the game simply uses the animation that the first explod was calling originally which was 4102. It completely ignores the 4192 that I'm telling it to look for. How is this possible? Has anybody had an issue like this? Am I going about this all wrong? I've also tried using the modifyexplod state and I got the exact same results.

You have it set for Robo Ambush and Robo-Ky.

[State 200, 2]
type = Explod
trigger1 = animelemtime(15) = 308
trigger1 = enemy,name = "Robo Ambush"  || enemy,name = "ROBO-Ky"   <------new trigger

Change the trigger to this, it'll make it to where it'll activate if either one is the enemy.

Holy crap it worked. I'm such an idiot. I was telling it to only show up if both Robo-Ky and Robo Ambush were the enemy at the same time. ( FACE PALM )

Thanks for the quick reply. Helped a lot.
