I watched the Best Friends play nearly a full hour of this game and I'm still not convinced that it actually exists.

I watched that too and I had no idea what was going on. Can someone explain to me what the deal is with this game and why the Best Friends went insane over it.

The tl;dr version is that the developers spent years hyping up this game as the next Mortal Kombat with "shocking, realistic, gory visuals" and posted tons and tons of concept art and promotional material without ever actually showing anything that proved they were making an actual video game out of it.  They started selling pre-orders before they even began making the game, and backers were promised demos and early access that never happened.  Eventually people started assuming the whole thing was some kind of scam, at which point the developers threw huge shit-fits on youtube and social media before going completely dark .

After that, everyone kind of assumed that the game never actually existed since nothing remotely resembling a playable build ever surfaced until now.

Update (4:15pm): As a reader messaged me to point out, it actually seems as though Necrostorm is attempting to re-brand Death Cargo as Gorebreaker. The latter is allegedly coming to Xbox One and Windows at some point, although the "game info" page is still empty.
